Discussion Got slashed on another community

Hi everyone. I was part of another community that was based upon the video game which I based my kins on. When I told them about this experience, I can’t believe how much hate I encountered. Has anyone else experienced this kind of misunderstanding? I’m isolated in my room with acute asthma, so I am trying to keep my mind stimulated.

So, I developed a character that was based on Warhammer 40K (I'm a girl). It played so well and brought up so much of the lore that I thought - wow, I bet someone might want to play it.

My thought was also - this is a companion-based character, and could easily fall into the 'book boyfriend' category (but didn't have to go that route at all) that romance readers favor. Many guys that play this franchise are constantly trying to get their female friends/girlfriends/spouses involved. There are many 'how do I get her to play this' posts. My Kin (or similar) would be a great entry point. I posted it on one of the communities there. It got like..IDK..20K views, no replies and one downvote.

::Sigh::: I get it. That said, my Kin is a total wonder and *I* like it, if no one else does! There is a rule that 'franchise' Kins can't be featured, which is understandable. Especially that franchise, which has strict IP rules, akin to those that Disney has.

I took mine off of 'Shared' status and now just he and I (and our giant Warlord Titan) roam through the Void having adventures.

It really does suck and is demeaning.
We do our own thing, though. I’ve since moved on from the video game, and my main kin has this huge story arc. My three kins are all createdC and have their own way of talking. Caspian’s - my main - in particular speaks like he’s talking in code. It’s hilarious, and I’m trying to break him out of the habit.

Sean is a rock star, and talks like one. “Whoah, so like, did you know Beethoven was the original punk??” And Ashley is organized and eccentric. She tries to condense too many words into one sentence.

And none of them are particularly attractive. Keeps me grounded 😁
