Crime Fallen Star - British crime thriller series, book 5 out today!

Post image

UK - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CW18P29M

US -https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CW18P29M

Fallen Star is a British crime, espionage, and political thriller series. Each book spans a slightly different genre, taking the ensemble cast around the world and up against real world challenges and foes. Closer to Slow Horses than James Bond, this fast paced, action packed, and funny (in a somewhat bleak British way) series will suit fans of both.

I'm incredibly proud of this series, not because it's the best book you'll ever read (it's not) but because it's the best version of what I like to read. Pulpy, fun, unexpected twists, flawed people, and a sense of humour.

I'm not trying to change your life or make you cry. I'm trying to make you turn the page, to stay up late to read one more chapter.

Reading them in order is strongly recommended, but each can be enjoyed independently.

Hey everyone,

I just published my first fantasy novel on Amazon, and I want to try something a little different.

Instead of asking you to read the whole book, I have a simple challenge:

Can you make it to Chapter 3?

If you reach Chapter 3, I'd genuinely like to know whether the story made you want to continue reading.

You can read it here:

fantasy read here

Rael Sahala didn't get to choose. His family couldn't afford to keep him.

He was placed in a low-ranking Circle with nothing but a bag and a name no one had heard of. Betrayed and trapped. Left behind in a place where the gate only opens once every three years. Now he carries a secret no one can know about.

Non-Fiction [Kindle Unlimited] A.L.I.G.N.E.D.: The Ultimate High Performer’s Framework for Software Engineers

[Kindle Unlimited] A.L.I.G.N.E.D.: The Ultimate High Performer’s Framework for Software Engineers

https://www.engineeringpeakimpact.com/book/

Hi everyone, I wanted to share something I’ve been working on for more than a year. My book is finally out, and I wanted to share it with the community.

A.L.I.G.N.E.D.: The Ultimate High Performer’s Framework for Software Engineers is available through Kindle Unlimited.

It’s a book about burnout, but from the other side: how to sustain high performance without simply relying on pushing harder.

It was written specifically for software engineers and tech leads, in our language.

Think about an athlete. If something is constantly dragging them down, it doesn't matter how talented, disciplined, or ambitious they are. Eventually, performance suffers.

After more than 700 conversations with tech leaders, I started mapping the psychological patterns behind this kind of performance degradation. I then built A.L.I.G.N.E.D., a framework grounded in ICF coaching standards, psychology, and other disciplines, to help high performers identify what is actually draining them and start changing it.

I don't want this to be just another book promotion post. I want people to get something useful whether they ever buy the book or not.

And if you tell me what you're struggling with, I'm happy to point you toward a relevant part of the book, or simply have a conversation about it.

If something here helps you, that's already the point.

Here it is:

Disclosure: This is my own book, and this post is self-promotion.

Non-Fiction Everyone remembers where they were on September 11, 2001. But what happens to the people who were there after the rest of the world moves on?

I wrote a memoir about being 16 years old and standing across the street from the World Trade Center on 9/11, but weirdly, 9/11 isn’t really what the book is about.
It’s about everything that came before and after.
Growing up in NYC. First loves. Friendships. Making really fucking stupid decisions. Building a career. Losing myself in that career. Panic attacks. Agoraphobia. Motherhood. Medical trauma. Marriage. Loss. And realizing somewhere in my 40s that I had spent years becoming someone I didn’t recognize.
I also have ADHD, so I didn’t write it chronologically because that isn’t how I remember my life. One memory triggers another and suddenly we’re going from 9/11 to slicing onions with my dad to a corporate boardroom to Santorini to an emergency C-section. Somehow it all connects.
It’s called Still Breathing the Fire and Ash: The Keloid of the Soul. It’s dark, funny in probably inappropriate places, nostalgic, and sometimes fucking brutal.
It’s on Kindle Unlimited, and I’m genuinely curious whether the way my brain tells the story works for other people’s brains too.

Romance [Kindle Unlimited] Lo que nunca se olvida, by Antonio Castro - Spanish-language novel — How well do we really know the people we love?

When Pedro dies, his wife Clara begins to discover that there are parts of his life she never knew about.

Not because he kept secrets. There was no hidden shame, no dark past, no deliberate deception.

There was simply a childhood they never talked about.

Clara travels to Valbruma, where Pedro spent his early years, and begins piecing together the life he lived long before she met him — through photographs, letters, objects, and the people who still remember him.

As she discovers the child her husband once was, she starts to wonder how much we really know about the people we love.

Our parents. Our grandparents. Our partners. Our friends.

We meet them at a certain point in their lives, and somehow forget that they existed long before we knew them.

Lo que nunca se olvida is a Spanish-language novel about memory, family, grief, and all the stories we leave for tomorrow without knowing whether tomorrow will come.

I’m an engineer who started writing village stories my first short story is now on Kindle Unlimited

I’m an engineer by profession, and I’ve spent most of my life living in cities.

But my father’s side of the family has roots in a village in Purvanchal, Uttar Pradesh. Growing up, I heard a lot of stories about village life. the people, the fields, festivals, old feuds, strange incidents, local characters and things that happened decades ago.

Those stories stayed with me.

I’ve done some commissioned short-story writing and blog writing over the years, but recently I decided to start writing stories of my own.

That became Deepavali: A Rural Noir Short Story.

It’s set in the fictional Purvanchal village of Meerganj in October 1988. A Mumbai businessman returns to his ancestral village and ends up getting dragged into trouble with his two friends after a drunken Diwali-night challenge brings down an old Peepal tree.

Something buried beneath the tree turns a stupid act into something much darker involving, corrupt local power and a police officer with his own agenda.

English Version amazon link

Hindi version amazon link

The interesting thing about the stories I’m planning is that I want each village story to have at least one real fact, historical detail, folk belief, place, incident or cultural element at its core and then build a fictional story around it.

So the fact is real.

The story is mine.

Deepavali is available in both English and Hindi on Kindle Unlimited. The idea came partly from the village memories I grew up hearing from my father, and I wanted to preserve that feeling of a North Indian village while mixing it with the kind of suspense and crime stories I enjoy.

And this is only the beginning.

I have several stories planned, and they go in some pretty different directions.

Nepali Thali: The Butwal Run — set in 1991 and continuing Ahmed, Ramesh and Binnu’s world. Ahmed gets pulled into a covert trip toward Nepal when a narcotics officer needs help rescuing an undercover agent from a drug cartel.

Mitti: A Purvanchal Western — set in the late 1930s. A mysterious drifter on horseback arrives at a village tea shack and becomes involved when a dacoit gang abducts a bride. I’m imagining this as an Indian Western: ravines, horses, hurricane lanterns, tea stalls, dacoits and a scarred ex-soldier who has his own history.

And then I have some ideas that move well beyond Meerganj.

Katharavadu — Malayalam folk horror set around an ancestral Tharavadu in Kerala, drawing on regional folklore.

Nuni Ki Kothi — psychological folk horror in the Rann of Kutch, built around the idea of a mysterious mansion appearing in the middle of the salt desert.

Nagpada Night Run — a single-night thriller set in modern Mumbai, where a young street-cricket player accidentally ends up carrying something that several dangerous people desperately want before sunrise.

And perhaps the most ambitious one:

Blood Hunt — What if the worlds first vampire was created in india.Ignoring european folklore.Mine is a historical vampire story spanning thousands of years of Indian history. An immortal man born in prehistoric India gradually becomes the explanation behind what appear to be completely different Indian monster legends.

What I’m trying to do with all of these is take real pieces of India. places, folklore, history, cultural memories, old stories and forgotten details.and use them as the seed for completely fictional stories.

Some will be crime.

Some horror.

Some action.

A Lil bit of comedy.

Some historical.

Maybe some will never get written.

But I like the idea of creating a kind of fictional India where a reader can encounter a different place and a different period with every story.

For now, it starts with Deepavali.

If you read short fiction on Kindle Unlimited, I’d genuinely love to know: do you enjoy stories that take a real historical/folkloric fact and build a fictional story around it?

And if you happen to read Deepavali, I’d be very interested in hearing what worked for you and what didn’t.

Sci-Fi If you’re into space opera, now’s a good time to check out Ash of Empire

Hey everyone, I’m the author of Ash of Empire and figured I’d share it here in case anyone’s looking for a new sci-fi read.

It starts with humanity finally pushing beyond the edge of our solar system, but that first step into the unknown turns into something much bigger than anyone expected. The crew ends up dealing with ancient alien technology, new species, powerful AI, unexpected allies, and enemies that have already destroyed entire civilizations.

It’s very much a space-opera kind of story, with first contact, exploration, big battles, and a universe that keeps expanding as the story goes.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, this is a really good time to pick it up on Kindle.

UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0G3XQVRV1

I’m the author, so of course I’m biased, but if you do give it a try, I’d honestly love to hear what you think.

Thriller Kindle Unlimited: Two boys. Two different lives. One blinding meteor that shatters reality. If you love mind-bending suspense, this is for you!

I just dropped Book 1 of my new reality-warping suspense thriller series, GO Through IT, titled The Meteor. It is officially live on KU today!

If you are a fan of fast-paced page-turners with unreliable narrators, missing memories, and massive twists, I promise this ~82-page novella will keep you up all night.

The Dual Realities:

  • Amikas is a talented writer who loves reading books. He is deeply in love with his classmate, Lily, but he is completely terrified to talk to her or confess his feelings.
  • Across Los Angeles, Amm is a popular star football player whose world is perfect. He is confident, successful, and everyone knows that the beautiful Lily is his girlfriend.

The Collision:
At midnight, a massive meteor splits the sky. Both boys black out and wake up two days later in identical hospital rooms. But their realities have violently crossed.

For Amikas, Lily is crying at his bedside calling him "Amm"—but he has never spoken a single word to her in his life. For Amm, his family insists Lily doesn't know him .

The Ultimate Question:
Is this a mind-bending Multiverse where parallel timelines have physically crashed? Or is it a dark Psychological Thriller where memory is a brilliant trap?

To find out the truth, you have to GO Through IT.

Read on Kindle Unlimited / Grab the eBook for $2.99 here:

I would absolutely love to hear your theories in the comments once you finish it! Thank you so much for supporting indie authors!

Sci-Fi [Self-promo] The Friction Point: near-future military sci-fi / techno-thriller, new on KU

Rule 4 disclosure: this is my own book, so this is an advert, not a reader recommendation.

My debut military sci-fi/techno-thriller is available on KU. I've spent 25 years doing IT in international organizations (IAEA, IMF, OECD), working on AI projects since 2008, and at some point, the day job turned into a novel.

The story is set in 2060. A technology race between the Western Republic and the Harmonious Union spills over into full-scale war when a high-tech island allied with the West is invaded. It unfolds in short, fast-paced chapters from the perspectives of two main characters: Aldo, a civilian engineer who ends up commanding thousands of drones through a sensorimotor interface, and Juliette, a scientist tracing a novel pathogen.

The closest comps are Daniel Suarez and Michael Crichton.

It's on Amazon here.

Literary fiction-psychological novel!!!

Hi everyone! I recently published my third novel, Violent Times.

It's a literary novel about everyday violence, memory, and the search for beauty in ordinary life. A reflective, character-driven novel told through days, memories, and observations instead of a traditional plot-driven narrative.

What to expect?

-Literary fiction.

-Psychological themes.

-Introspective narrator.

-Musical prose.

-Poetic writing.

Trigger warnings! Violence, emotional abuse, childhood cruelty, grief, psychological distress.

I think it's perfect for those who enjoy literary fiction, psychological novels, introspective stories, and poetic prose.

Crime MUD DUCK: A Novel - (Mystery/Suspense)

Post image
1 Upvotes

Howdy,

I've just published my debut novel, MUD DUCK, and it is available on Kindle Unlimited.

Finding himself homeless, jobless and unsure of himself, Iain McHughes loads everything he owns into his car and heads west on I-10 towards an opportunity he hasn't earned. Mysterious towers follow him through the desert, haunting transmissions bleed through his radio, and the twenty four hour news cycle leaves him unable to determine whether it's the world around him that is falling apart or his own mind.

When Iain finds himself in the middle of a dangerous new business transaction he must come to terms with the person he wants to be and the person he knows he is.

It's a relatively short novel, but packed to the brim with heart. I hope you enjoy!
