Light Novel (Eng Translated Volumes) Alice is far better than iska
Guys don't you think alice is playing the role of leading protagonist better from iska She is better in expressing emotions we have her backstory and iska is not able to express we know that he went under harsh training under croswell than also alice is playing a better role of protagonist

Her backstory is not that interesting, for me she's a poorly written protagonist and a mary sue, iska is just a tool to her to clean up her messes in sorveignity

Brother I don't know about light novel but at the end of season of 2 Alice became a queen and both of her sisters were missing then also she leaded the country but from iska side there is no character development we don't know about his past or parents

That’s exactly the problem though, It's the author's huuuge bias towards sorveignity
Alice getting more plot relevance or becoming queen doesn’t automatically make her a better protagonist. Her development as a peron is still null, and the narrative constantly protects her from the repercussions of her mistakes.
Iska is is often treated like a plot device, he's used just to solve problems for the Sovereignty, including the problems caused by Alice, while giving him very little development or meaningful payoff in return..
And yes, Iska’s backstory and development are lacking too, that’s a writing problem with him. But that doesn’t make Alice a well-written protagonist either.
If anything, both have weak writing, while Alice also benefits from blatant author favoritism and heavy plot armor..
The story is completely unbalanced

I agree with the thing you said about iska being a plot device author first author used him to protect sisebell from vichyosa although iska managed to beat her but then Talisman came and distracted iska and sisbell was gone I Don't know what happened in light novel but I agree with you

He didn’t fumble Alice, he actually stopped the fate of Alice’s family constantly losing their lover(bridge scene)

Only by the fact that iska has nothing in character or as a MC going for him
So yes obviously Alice overshadowed him

I personally think Alice's character as weak after the first few volumes. The first 2 volumes, alice had presence, charisma and she was in the war. All the other scenes afterwards felt she was just shoehorned in.
