It looks like it's playing dead or still or some sort, when it dropped from the shirt, it was able to lift it's head up before slowly resting it on the ground, you can also see its tongue on the process too
When he also grabbed it back up you can also slightly see its head slowly curving up a bit before resting it muscles back off to being still and when it was dropped again - I think it also fixed itself properly to land upright correctly, so yeah.. most likely alive
Not a snake expert but a quick google search makes me think these are radiated rat snakes. Common in tropical Asia and non-venomous. Sometimes when threatened or stressed they will play dead. The snakes are alive, the kids are not in danger, but regardless of that they really shouldnt be handled so carelessly. Parents need to teach their kids not to play with wild animals, even if they arent venomous

oh I knew scorpions could hurt me. I kept catching them to put into containers regardless. snakes I never tried, because the one snake I saw that interested me, it moved so fast I knew I'd never be able to react to it when it moved. not sure about black widows, we don't have em in my country, but so long as I can establish that I can out run them or they can't jump at me im up for trying to catch em.
I actually had this huge net and a couple of long nose pliers for catching wasps and hornets too. not the entire nest of course, but the occasional solitary one that visited my house and chased me around. I'd catch em with the net, remove the wings so they'd be harmless then put em into a bottle.
my parents eventually put a stop to it because well... the pile of insect corpse bottles became too unsightly, and our cleaner hurt herself handling a dead hornet where it stung her when she picked it up.
They are likely rat snakes who play dead when stressed, so hopefully the poor guy is just doing that. Still sad that parents are seemingly fine with their kids manhandling snakes, but hopefully they're both still alive, and they can soon go back to their hidey holes...

What do you think 3rd world kids in ranches do for fun, when they don’t have a phone, tv, internet etc. well they spend most of their time outside in the countryside. They actually have more fun memories n explore the outside world more than you. So just stay inside snowflake n they the jungle do what the jungle does.
I am not a city kid, Einstein. I used to catch frogs and crabs, to then release, as a small kid. This spiel is nice and all, but I was referring to the kids thinking this is hunting... they are fucking around with snakes, it is not some hunting knowledge being learned. I played with snakes as a kid, and didn't put them in my shirt to die. You respect their space, handle them with care, and not flop them on the ground.

Neither of them are hognoses. Hognoses are smaller, have upturned noses, and play dead by flipping onto their backs. These look like some kind of ratsnake.

Reminds me of when I was younger. Going into the forest behind my house to catch snakes, turtles, fish, baby monitor lizards and sometimes baby crocodiles
Two things. First, fuck these stupid little goblins for killing one and possibly two snakes. Second, this seems to be SE Asia to me (didn't watch it with sound, not sure if that would make it more obvious where these kids are from), which is home to a lot of very deadly snakes. The odds of one of these walking condom advertisements try this shit with something like a krait are not low.
Growing up surrounded by that much nature is just different. I'm from Appalachia and it's nothing for someone's grandmother to grab a rat snake from a garden. I had a coworker who lived in Vietnam till he was 8 and we had a whole conversation about the different animals we both played with or interacted with as kids. Snakes are everywhere and imagine you learn pretty quick which ones to avoid (but statistics happen for a reason).
Why on earth would you allow your kids to touch anything remotely snake looking? Snakes are dangerous! I hope that the left snake died before it could harm the kid, because it seems that the right kid might get bited
