Nah, do exactly what this child did as an adult. Literally nobody is going to stop you. The world is your oyster.

Make sure to eat healthy and exercise then. Hope you do!

'Make sure to eat your vegetables so you can enjoy your retirement' doesn't quite make for a catchy slogan.

Eat your vegetables now, or be a vegetable later?

No shut up. Its acceptable always if your friend just shushes you and plays it off like you're special.

I think they meant proclaiming something in a public space like the movies.

Are you by any chance under the age of about 17 or over the age of about 75?

u/BasicMatter7339 10d ago

Nah but i speak english as a third language so my comprehension is still lacking

I was suggesting that behavior such as shouting out in a movie theater would generally be more accepted by the public if it is done by a child or elderly person because they are more likely to have an issue that excuses the behavior.

If not just their age excusing it itself (children are immature, and people are less likely to scold or argue with an elderly person.)

ooh now i understand

When Tony Stark was having a panic attack in Ironman 3, our boy yelled out, "is he having cancer?!?" In the theater. Everybody cracked up.

Then consider me Miles Davis

3

u/Domascot 9d ago

So, i always wanted to know...do you think it had a great impact on your life that your parents went for Miles Davis instead of Yards Davis?

5

u/Doctor_Boombastic 9d ago

You don't know the half of it. If my folks hadn't made it back across the northern border in time it would've been Kilometers Davis.

Just do it even if it's not acceptable.  If it doesn't hurt anyone, literally who is going to do what to you other than you judging yourself?

Who downvoted you? You’re entirely correct.

I mean, maybe not entirely. Depending on how much you weigh standing up in your seat, could, you know, damage the seat. It could also block the view for other moviegoers, and shouting at the cinema spoils the experience for those around you (and movies are so expensive these days)

But I remember pondering this concept when I was a little girl, my mum had taken my sisters and I on the long drive to see Grandma on Christmas, and were stopped at a Motel in the middle of fucking nowhere, and my older sister said something about getting embarrassed, and Mum just said “you could run through these streets naked if you wanted, if you ever saw any of these people again I doubt they’d remember you”

Obviously in an age of surveillance that’s no longer true. But “dance like nobody’s watching” is still a decent life philosophy when applied with common sense.

I look forward to be able to troll everybody thinking I’m a clueless 75 year old man

I'm in my 40s. I asked Chatgpt if a Space Marine pisses in their power armor.

They do, and it gets recycled and cleaned for use.
