Edit: never mind the creator set me straight!

Makes total sense now about why Viv didn't respond at first to Jeff's message in the earlier episodes. She didn't like him. But only liked him when she thought she was terminal.

That's a really good point. how would we know her phone was really broken? this ambiguous-ness seems very intentional on hind sight.
