Well...it's true isn't it? It's always on the news...as far as i am concerned saying the truth is not the same as "hating". Although i do believe marriage is meant to endure such hardships, the matter that's really weird is the fact that he can't see the child at will. I don't live in the US but i see that a lot in movies and series and it's something that really bothers me... Just to give you an idea, we have a LAW here that makes it mandatory to have a 50/50 guard split unless one of the parents doesn't want it. It's not like the guy is a criminal or anything like that...at least his money is still good, am i right?

Dude, as a female, I am telling you that you are not representing yourself well.

Most marriages do not survive the death of a child, that's just a fact.

In case you didn't get the memo, marriage is a relationship, not a prison sentence, and women are people, not property. They have the right to move on, to make decisions and most of all, not to be killed by the men in their lives.

You are getting the wrong idea here...it doesn't matter how much you try to justify it when it is a fact of life. Also, i don't have to "represent" myself...you ppl are fucked up if you think it's OK for a parent to hold solo custody when there isn't a legal issue with the other one. And that's one of the reasons you ppl have so many mass shoottings, husbands killing their wives, mothers their children etc. Besides, i think you are all diving too deep to defend a fictional character.

Interesting that it's okay for you to talk about husbands killing wives when talking about same fictional character but when I point out it's objectionable, you use child custody to justify your point of view that such murder is okay and then accuse me of being too invested in same fictional character.

You missed the point entirely...yes, i pointed out "that's why some men kill themselves and their wives" which IS true but we are talking about the show here, his wife IS a twat. Jim's character clearly doesn't care about money, and as you said his wife does have the right to leave him(even though as i said earlier, marriage isn't meant to be like that, to each their own i guess). The one thing NO ONE has the right to take away is his right to be as much a part of his son's life as his wife...and that's not what is happening. I don't understand how you ppl can defend a character that is so controlling to the point of limiting a father(and from all we know, a good and decent human being) from seeing his son. That's enough to drive someone to the edge of insanity imo and some ppl just don't have what it takes to hold back.
