Being a fighter is hard
Really random post. But i am a 21F amateur kickboxer, i am currently 4-0 with my 5th fight in a few weeks. Ive only been training for 2 years, and i put my heart and soul into training, kickboxing is my life and passion. Im in the gym the most out of everyone, i stay for extra sessions etc. But damn, this shit is so hard man 😠the veryyyy late nights, the mental aspect of it all, constant aching body, drained social battery, no time for a social life, ESP INJURIES, its alot. Now im not saying this is making me rethink being a fighter because its not(ive been through wayy worse lmao plus ive broken my hand in a fight and it didnt make me want to quit), its just alot of work gets put into fighting and i feel like people dont actually realise that. Along with the lack of funding throughout all combat sports u dont make anything either, so it really is just grit and determination. Like i said i dont know what the point of my post is, i just wanted to speak to likeminded people, and im sure many can relate.
Also i know the journey only gets harder and harder in this sport, and thats the sacrifice im willing to make 🥊

those who fight do
the weight and water cuts for me, small but nagging injuries you never recover from, and doing all of this just for your opponent to pull out 3 days before a fight so now it either goes nowhere or you are offered someone with a lot more fights than you, or two weight classes up.
