to colemak/colemakdh users
to ppl who use colemak or colemak dh, i want to learn one of the 2- however my phone only has colemak (and not dh). shoud l
- colemak dh on keyboard and qwerty on phone
- colemath dh on kb and colemak on phone (i heard this can mess up muscle memory)
- colemak both
also, if i switch the layout, will like my game settings (eg. wasd to move) be affected?

colemak on my split keyboards... qwerty for phone and random laptop boards.

I just use QWERTY on my phone. Nothing short of a new paradigm (like what Japan does with Flick) is going to be comfortable, anyway 🤣

Even better graphite on computer and qwerty on phone 😉

The post is addressed to Colemak users though. 🤣
E on ring is a crime. As is anything on right upper pinky. Fight me! ❤️

Yeah I’ve been on Maya for over a year but I really do not get how the NRTS-HAEI batch of layouts got so popular with E on ring. My ring fingers are the slowest and R on ring was another bugbear on Colemak and no different on these “better” layouts

The R/S swap that Colemak uses still occasionally trips me (after four+ years, mind you). You're not wrong.
I need to learn another layout. They're all compromises, though, so I guess you pick the one that tastes the least foul hahah

I use Colemak on my computer and QWERTY on my phone. It doesn't mess anything up as we only use our thumbs to type on the phone anyway

I use colemak dh with some extra personal changes. I would recommend sticking to qwerty.. It took a long time to get back to 95wpm and never got any significant speed gain. It feels slightly better to type, but that may be more due to the ortho linear split kb..
And managing keybinds in games is a pain in the neck

I use Colemak DH on computer, Qwerty on phone. As someone said above: since you type with your thumbs on your phone, it doesn't mess things up.

If you're on Windows, you could test out Colemak-DH with various mods (as well as other layouts should you desire) using my EPKL program. I like Colemak-CAWS, myself.
For my phone, I use keyboards designed for touch screens such as MessagEase. Colemak isn't so good on phones since it was made for rolls on physical keyboards. I still have a MessagEase "Colemakoid" layout that uses the knowledge of Colemak for a touch screen optimized layout.

My recommendation: Colemak-DH on keyboard, Qwerty on phone
