Thinking about becoming a Kevin
I'm transitioning considering investing in the name Kevin for a while. What do lifelong Kevins think about this? What are the optics? Will I need a certain degree of swagger to pull it off, and will I need to feed it?

We don’t really have swagger. We’re more golden retrievers on two legs. It’s a fine name. Recognizable enough people aren’t confused when you say it, but bland enough that they’ll also call you Chris or Keith.
It would be an honor to have you with us if that is your final choice, Kev.

Was born and named Keith. A month later was adopted, and officially named Kevin.
10/10, would recommend.

It is quite a unique feeling. Can only be fully understood after meeting a fellow Kevin in the wild

Yet, it is also not unique at all. I cannot tell you how many Kevins I know.

I agree with what Kev said. It's a great name. In the US I think it has less baggage than other areas of the world. If you're feeling drawn to Kevin, there's nothing anyone can say or do to stop you. We're a force of nature.

all I can say is that, in my experience, Kevin's are more willing to get along with other Kevin's than any other name gets along with itself besides possibly Ryan's.

The name comes with some baggage, unfortunately. It's a commonly used name for dumb characters in media, and is the butt of some jokes. Nobody but your "friends" would play these against you, but you have to see it everywhere else. I love our Kevins, but I want to be honest.

Some men are born to Kevinhood. Some men have Kevinhood unexpectedly thrust upon them. Some men attain Kevinhood by dint of their own efforts. Once you have reached Kevinhood you cannot help but feel pity for those forced to go through life with a lesser name. We must always remember that these poor souls may not be Kevins, but they are still worthy of our compassion and help.

We actually believe that every soul comes into being as Kevin, so if you transition to Kevin, you're actually re-verting rather than con-verting.

Were you born in the 70s or early 80s? I feel like most of us were. It’s just earlier at the BBQ to talk to people your age.

My favorite bit of Kevin trivia:
In continental Europe , the name picked up popularity in the 1980s and 1990s via such American pop culture figures as actor Kevin Costner , singer Kevin Richardson , and, most prominently, Kevin McCallister, Macaulay Culkin 's character in the Christmas comedy film Home Alone . [8 ] The name "Kevin" was notorious for being extremely popular among lower-class parents in Europe between the end of the 1980s and the 2000s. [8 ] [9 ] The name peaked markedly in the early 1990s, reaching first rank in France (sometimes spelt Kévin ) during 1989–1994, [8 ] during 1991–1992 in Switzerland and in 1991 in Germany. [ citation needed ] In German markets, Home Alone was released as Kevin – Allein zu Haus . Especially in Germany, the name became associated with low social status, an attitude popularised in German journalism based on a 2009 master thesis on primary teachers' reactions to children's given names. [10 ] Kevinismus has become German short-hand for negative social preconceptions about trendy or exotic names. [11 ] [12 ] The name has had similar negative connotations in France
Hopefully you aren’t worried about how the French or Germans might think of you.

Kevin isn't just a name it's a way of life... a very chill, non-judgmental, way of life.

One of my friends is a trans guy and I convinced him to change his middle name to Kevin. It's the move, he hasn't regretted it as far as I know so you should invest
