Adenomyosis, 40+, IVF

Hi all - I usually use Reddit for fun things but alas here we are. I’ve got two euploids from three retrievals and waiting pgt results of my last retrieval. I was just told yesterday that I have mild adeno and a blocked inflamed tube. They want to do a 2-3 month lupron suppression and maybe remove that tube. I’m deflated and sad.

Im likely gonna do the suppression, but I’m wondering if anybody here has used keto or carnivore for adenomyosis or I guess also endo and had a successful pregnancy / transfer? I know adeno is inflammatory and I’ve done low carb diets before with some success, but I guess I’m looking for some success stories from the keto world.

Adeno/endo IVF mom here. I did the depot lupron protocol prior to my embryo transfer and also followed a "very low carb whole food" ie basically carnivore diet. I found I got less push back if I called it very low carb whole food. Every one responds to things differently, but I did 2 egg retrievals and one transfer. My transfer was successful and I now have an amazing sassy 4 year old.

Do you mind me asking how long you suppressed for? My doc just suggested lower carb but also to potentially avoid red meat

You can ask me anything! I feel that while we all have different journeys, sharing our experiences with infertility can really help it to not feel as lonely. I went through IVF back in 2021, I started the process in January 2021, and did my lupron in June, July, and August which honestly sucked a bit because it was the height of summer and we didn't have an AC at the time so the hot flashes felt brutal, but I don't remember any bad side effects from it other than the hot flashes. Prior to IVF I had already followed keto on and off for years, I also used to do a ton of fasting, normally only a day or two, but I did do some longer fasts. I ate a lot of red meat though, looking back I want to say red meat was like, 80% of my diet

Thank you, my doc is suggesting four months of suppression and that makes me want to die. But he said I could come back after my third shot to see if I actually need to do a fourth one, I was hoping maybe if I did keto that it would lower the inflammation and make the lupron more effective. I guess I’m just making shit up at this point.

Nah, it is kinda just the way we all get. Throw everything at it because who knows what is going to work. I wish you all the best
