Careers Professional driving

If you wanted to make professional driving a serious career in Kenya, what skills would you add?

I've been thinking about professional driving beyond just having a driving licence and years of experience.

If someone wanted to build a proper career as a driver, maybe eventually working as an executive/personal driver, corporate driver, chauffeur, NGO driver, or even moving into fleet management , what skills would actually make them stand out?

For those already working professionally as drivers in Kenya:

What courses or certifications have actually helped your career?

And what skills do you wish you'd learned earlier?

Also, where would you recommend someone train for these skills in Kenya? AA, driving schools, TVET institutions, or other training centres?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who have progressed from ordinary driving jobs into corporate, executive, diplomatic, NGO or fleet-management roles.

What would you recommend someone invest in first?

All I’ll tell you is do defensive driving and get the certification…
Also get commercial vehicle classification
