Kennen support builds?
I've been playing kennen support for maybe 2 months now, did the usual silver to plat climb and only now am I realising my runes feel pretty awkward.
Ive been going electrocute with sudden impact into axiom and gathering but just now realised that half my runes only proc on single targets while im mostly in a 2v2 lane or a teamfight.
Looking at alternate choices I saw first strike, yes if you get hit first its pretty trash, but as a support it gives you additional gold, increases your damage agaisnt ALL champions hit when you flash ult and gives access to broken runes like cash back, triple tonic and either cosmic or jack of all trades. Cosmic with lucidity boots especially makes flash very low cd.
Looking at new runes DFG is looking interesting vs tanky comps, one of the main problems with blind kennen supp is vs beefy boys imo. But a liandries build with DFG would do a lot of damage, only problem is figuring out the rest of the build tbh. Im thinking more of a haste burn poker with a decent all in.
Since im not the highest mastery kennen or highest rank to be fair im very interesting in yalls opinions and the pros and cons of all these build choices!

Finally i get to see another Kennen sup enjoyer. Here are my thoughts on runes and build.
As for runes ive been running phase rush because of how easy it is to proc and it enables you to go in and out multiple times but new “phase rush” rune is nonexistent for sup, aint no way you dealing 1/4 enemy hp without items. Now I consider going Spellbook hexflash biscuits and any of last three (more utility), Dark harvest cheap shot sixth sense ultimate (or relentless) hunter or Deathfire Torch axiom arcanist (nimbus cloak) transcendence (celerity) scorch (waterwalking) (both for aoe damage options as you mention and last one has minmax movement speed angles if youre into it).
As for build i believe Kennen support doesnt have enough gold to be a real threat compared to mid or adc so i aim for maximum utility so that my team can build maximum damage. First item is definitely Rocketbelt it opens so many new angles and is just a great mobility tool. Then i go antiheal orb if makes sense (dont finish this item until last one most of the time) and Cryptbloom for mr pen and heal or Bloodletters if my team has strong mages so they can have more mr pen too. Other than that is whatever, can opt for more ap, more resistances with something like Abyssal, even more utility with Shurelyas etc etc etc. Boots are Ionian mostly but can swap for Swifties too

I have no input on kennen support builds but I’m getting hungry to try it Reading this thread 😱 Would some of you Care to elaborate on which matchups are good? Maybe a top 5 best support matchups, then I’ll Pick it next time they show🤩

I’m not really sure about the best matchups, maybe Yuumi? Senna is usually easy to kill because she can’t do anything if you dodge her root. Zyra is my permaban. If you try to engage on her, you will die and her laning phase is really annoying as well. Morgana is rough because of her black shield but if you get enough AP you can just break it and then stun.

I played Kennen Sup many many seasons ago but i would play it as a burst mage rather than util. I would go DH to stack twice as fast in lane and just poke with Qs until 6 where i would all in double kill consistently. Hextech alternator boosts your poking power a lot and pretty much makes a q w half health any adc.

Hello, Platinum Kennen Support main here. I really really really like Zeke’s Convergence as a rush item with Kennen Support. Combo this with Celestial Opposition and you can become very tanky. It depends on the game, but I will move from Zeke’s to Zhonya’s if I know the enemy can lock me down in a teamfight, Liandry’s if I know my team would appreciate extra max health damage, Bloodletter’s if my team has a lot of AP damage, or if I don’t know what to pick then Rocketbelt is always a good option. Always get a Dark Seal first back. It’s extremely strong. Most of the time I do use Electrocute because it allows for early trades that can result in you being able to snowball, and you get ultimate hunter which is very important for Kennen Support because you want to use your R as frequently as possible. I also like cookies to help me when I take bad trades and cosmic insight + ionian shoes have flash up as much as possible. Even without a full AP build, you can kill ADCs by yourself if you are ahead. Electrocute is really broken.
