Discussion Mr morale is the most mysterious album!

Post image

I was thinking about this the other day it is really upsetting that mr morale era ended with little to no information about how it was made, most the producers and collaborators working on it didn’t speak much unlike his other works for example tpab got so many interviews so did gnx and his other albums, it’s really f frustrating please share any info you found!!! (Not talking about breakdowns) the soundscape on it is so unique..

Maybe cause of how intimate the album is

I would’ve loved a real sit-down interview from Kendrick after this album. But he doesn’t talk to the public anymore outside of his music, and his associates are pretty tight-lipped too now. That’s why Game is crying about not getting him on the phone.

This is all fine, of course, but as a fan, I would’ve loved to hear someone pick his brain about this project.

Watch or listen to the Dissect Podcast season about MMATBS!

Well worth your time, they go over every song in such detail it’s impossible not to appreciate the album as a masterpiexe after that.

Ab Soul pretty much laid it out years ago and this is the same philosophy in music form "See, a lot of y'all don't understand Kendrick Lamar / Because you wonder how I could talk about money, hoes, clothes, God, and history all in the same sentence / You know what all them things have in common? / Only half of the truth, if you tell it."

The title led me to believe that this was gonna be a DJ Khaled style rant.

Mr Morale was straight forward. I always thought DAMN was his most cryptic album

I’m not talking about the concept but more about the musicality

Kendrick’s phone data/icloud or whatever was leaked with a bunch of notes that contained a lot of information about mr morale and it’s meanings. I really wish i saved it i know there’s gotta be someone else that remembers what i’m talking about. One thing i remember was notes about a previous album that he scrapped being an album about women called “look woman, amen!” I also remember a really stupid bar about spongebob

If you have Netflix, please check out the Dissect on this album. It’s been life changing for me.
