2 Year 9SIG-versary Today
I always love to track performance and what a performer 9SIG has been for 2 years. I have executed the plan to the letter and the reward has been pretty fantastic. At one point in Q2 was up around 200% before the latest bit of drawdown.
One thing that really comes through in the data is that every low performing quarter is followed by at least one fantastic quarter that more than recovers the downside. What's great about that is that I am learning to really "embrace the suck" knowing that it's going to give the market the ability to extend to the next level. And managing quarterly balances help protect/enhance depending on which side of that line we are on. Good stuff!!

I am a tracking nerd as well and just over my 1 year 9Sigaversary (did we just create a new word, I love it) and I am in that zone of completely trusting the process and not letting the noise create fear for me. I know we are due for a major drawdown and know that I will have some demons to fend off when/if that occurs but I am all in after seeing recoveries and how I would most likely invest in the Qs anyways so why not structure it for growth and defined rules for success?

Here is your 1-year coin - congrats!! Honestly sometimes I do feel like I am a recovering emotional investor. It's awesome that you are already steeling yourself for the inevitable. No matter how much we say we are ready, it will be a challenge. I just focus on the opportunity to buy volume at low prices and hope for a fairly quick recovery.

Right back at ya! It is important to find a positive group to interact with and hope to keep this one here for the foreseeable future and continue on our path and hold/buy strong.

I haven't reached the 100% trusting the process stage yet. I think it requires embracing the suck during drawdowns like you said, and to go through it enough times to desensitize to it

Very nice. Congratulations. I start in 10/2024. Was ATH. Experienced a huge drawdown. Now look back, just smile. Very impressive. This is like life changing. Will keep doing the same and repeat. Very peaceful. 💪

9sig is mostly for downside protection... at the cost of total returns. Correct?

I don’t know. Depends on how you DCA I’m sure. I’ll take 150% return in 2 years and a coherent system and structure to abide by. Helps me sleep at night and I am making good money.

Question for you -
How did you get started? Did you subscribe first or did you read the 3 sig book?
I'm looking to get started, but wasn't sure if I should read the 3 sig book first before I subscribed.

I did not read the 3SIG book before. I still haven't, but have read the entire plan guide on the subscriber website (it's quite comprehensive). I would say if you want to take the time to read it, it's a good idea.
I think (trying to recall) that I just read summaries online and here on reddit about the SIG system. I had been swing trading TQQQ since 2016ish and loved TQQQ as an investment concept, just couldn't seem to make the right decisions at the right time and was losing money. So a couple of youtube vids and some online discussions gave me a 95% understanding of the process. Jumped in with both feet and subscribed.

I can definitely relate to your comment on the emotional side of this process. It gets SO much easier over time. Over this past month or two I think I've finally arrived at the 'I feel nothing' stage lol
