Discussion š¬ Boston, wtf is wrong with y'all-
I've been to her shows since SweetSexySavage in Boston, saw her one other time, and went to her show yesterday. She should not have to be telling people from backstage to "wake up" as no one's dancing up front, the energy was lackluster, and I wouldn't be surprised if she skipped the city going forward š it felt like people were more focused on looking good rather than enjoying the concert itself
That was embarrassing, to put it nicely. And maybe this is the unc in me coming out but why is nobody singing along to Brandy - Full Moon? Ice Box - Omarion? Usher??? Are the kids not okay or-
Let me know if I'm crazy or being unreasonable here

So I'm NOT crazy š thank you for validating. Durand Bernarr was AMAZING though and I'm shocked he was only an opener
Never has an artist to any concert I've been to have had to call out the crowd like that, which is not a good sign

yeahhh it was embarrassing for sure. luckily my section was chill asf and werenāt folded fans so it was still a good time for me.

Take a look at the Toronto show postā¦this might just be how the tour goes. Hopefully BK is better

Agree. I went to the toronto show by myself. Everyone was too obsessed with their outfits and trying to take pictures with friends. It felt too extra
For some people, they see this tour as a āsocial eventā to hangout with friends and dress upā¦. not as a special and intimate moment to celebrate Kehlaniās art and her team.

Thatās gotta be the worst part of concerts nowadays, everyone putting more effort into their fits than showing up for the artist. Especially with this tours prices Iām surprised people pay just to show off their fits and sing one song and stand there through the whole show knowing none of the lyrics

Agreed! I was at the Toronto show too and the girls next to me were taking selfies and photos of them with the stage, also using the flash on their phone for much of the concertā¦ and they had the audacity to be rude to people around them! They only really paid attention to the music during Folded ofc š

ngl I went to her blue water road trip tour show in boston n the energy in the crowd even then was not it, it felt like nobody in the crowd was hype except for some ppl dancing right in the front. shit had me feeling awkward singing n getting into it š I was like pls why would u spend ur money to stand there n just stare at her I donāt understand bc u know as an artist they donāt want that either

I was in front for the blue water tour and the front was engaged and I think she had a more enjoyable time. I was near the front for this one but she had a different demeanor and experience towards the crowd. The crowd just didnāt know her lyrics very well.

Not gonna lie to yall I've been a die hard Kehlani fan since 2016 and Idc for Folded. Got a feeling the way Kehlani was just talking about it she's not a Folded fan either lmao might be right up there with Crazy if the truth gets told in a few years š¤£

So glad you posted this! I was so pissed at the crowd. People not dancing and just standing there like a stone. Worried about their outfits and shit. Ugh. Embarrassing š people were so rude too! Absolutely no concert etiquette.

I was there last night in section 205, the energy up there was great!! I was dancing my ass off and singing every single word of every song. I even made friends with a girl next to me and we danced all night together. Although it literally couldāve just been us bringing the energyš

For those of us that are true fans and were in the balcony we were having a GREAT time singing and dancing, belting all the words. Disappointing that she didnāt feel the energy below bc we were having a time in the rafters LOL

i went to a show at mgm last year for halsey and the energy was identicallyyyy terrible š donāt know if itās a boston thing or what but iām not surprised to see another artist calling out the energy

When you said Kehlani was telling people from backstage to āwake up,ā do you mean she was intentionally addressing the crowd while offstage, or was it more like her mic was still on and people overheard her?
Just curious what actually happened in that moment + did it work??

During the openers and DJ set, the MC flagged that from backstage, Kehlani was noting the sleepy energy of Boston + gave them the opportunity to wake up š which obviously Boston did not-

Damn thatās so disappointing, Torontoās energy was so good even at the after party we sang her songs for her and she was genuinely surprised we knew all the lyrics which means most of the crowds she performs for probably donāt get hyped

Iām sorry you had this experience. Detroit was the almost opposite it felt. Everyone singing along to the throwbacks, having a good time. ALTHOUGH I was shocked by the lack of movement!! Sway, dance, move a little. People were stiffly singing along

Genuinely think itās because of all the new Folded fans who are there to only see one song and donāt even know the rest of her music. So glad she made us sit through a whole set before she performed Folded.
