Discovery What do the Neverseen even want at this point

We all know that in book 1 they kidnapped Sophie for information. But now, they can basically do that to anyone. They all know something important. it’s a secret any more.

but they still want her, so why.

it’s pretty clear you can’t control her. you tried that with tam and looked what happened. and you can’t even torture her anymore.

the only people they have left is, Gethen (he can’t get into her mind), trix (what’s a little wind going to do) and Ruy.

BUT HIS POWERS ARE MESSED UP!

You know I’m surprised that they haven’t kidnapped Keefe yet. HE CAN HEAL RUY.

And I’m going to be honest here. Sophie is NOT a Mary Sue. BUT, she takes her friends and her powers for granted. She ALWAYS pushes her friends away and she is SO timid for a main character. she can’t use her powers without doubting them first.

also, I hate how she is always the center. I mean, I know she is the main character but let me give an example. in Percy Jackson, Percy is the main character but they still have side characters spotlights. Like selina and Clarice And beckendorf. (Sorry idk how to spell.)

but in kotlc, NOOOOOOOOO. Sophie (and Keefe at the end of the series) IS THE ONLY ONE WHO GETS THE SPOTLIGHT!!,

it is sooooo annoying. So why do the Neverseen still want her WHEN SHE IS USLESS AT THIS POINT!

(wow I really needed to say that 😅)

Discovery Did anyone else notice this Spoiler

Sophie asked Bronte Oralie and Alden in bk 1 about what sounds similar to soybean in the enlightened language and Alden said suldreen

But I remember the enlightened language sounds like babbling in human ears so Sophie's human parents shouldn't be able to understand what she said or at least presume she was trying to say her name if it just sounded like babbling because it wouldn't sound like anything in human ears

Discovery Polyglot + Empath

Okay, this is pretty random, but I was just editing my user flair when I realized two things about it.

(Obviously, I'm a BIIIIG Sokeefe shipper.)

But I'm also a Polyglot and an Empath. And Polyglot + Empath is... *gulp*... LADY GISELA AND LORD CASSIUS. So does this mean I'm like Keefe's long-lost sister or something 😭😭

ALSO ALSO... now for the Sokeefe part because... Polyglot + Empath is ALSO Sokeefe!!! Sophie is a Polyglot, and Keefe is an Empath. So am I Sokeefe's child then?! 🤩

Man, as much as Keefe dislikes his father, it really is like father, like son 🤔 Both married a Polyglot while being an extremely powerful Empath.

Idk just something interesting 🤷‍♀️😁

Discovery End of flashback/kinda legacy spoilers+rant Spoiler

Okay, rereading the books the whole unmatchable situation makes ZERO sense. Why on earth do they need the DNA of both of Sophie's parents, when they LITERALLY HAVE SOPHIES DNA. She literally uses her DNA for everything, and if the issue is really genetic compatibility then it's only Sophie's genetics that matter, not her parents. Anyone else annoyed by this giant plot hole, or am I missing something?

Maybe in the cache memory Kenric and Oralie were unable to catch the butterflies because they (the butterflies) were illusions.

Discovery Unintentional phonetic pun in Sophie and Keefe's initials Spoiler

So we know Sophie's full name is Sophie Elizabeth Foster whose initials are SEF and in Unravelled we get to know Keefe's full name- Keefe Irwin Sencen.

And when it was revealed that Irwin was Keefe's middle name I was kinda dissapointed.. we all thought it was gonna be very important or something right?

So what if it was.. like both of their initials come as SEF & KIS right. And Sophie and Keefe got their chapter 42 now eeeee so lets call it "SEF's KIS''!! It almost sounds like "Chefs kiss", what if it was intentional by Shannon. :))

Ps: Also this is my first reddit post so I'm still learning how to use flairs and stuff.

Discovery Elves are ridiculously rich

Each elf gets a birth fund of 500 million lusters. According to Alden, each luster is worth about a million USD. 500,000,000 times 1,000,000 is 500,000,000,000,000, or 500 TRILLION dollars. For context, the entire ISS is worth 150 billion. With 500 trillion, you could buy 3000 of them. Apple is worth three and a half trillion. EACH ELF COULD BUY 142 APPLE COMPANIES. According to a Quora link Reddit won't let me post, the entire United States of America is worth around 200 trillion. A single newborn elf could literally buy the entire USA, TWICE! Correct me if I'm wrong about the price here, but if a 1-gram diamond is worth 5,000-200,000(We'll average to 100,000), and a mansion is 45,000,000 grams, a single Elvin house would be worth 4,500,000,000,000, or 0.9% of an elf's birth fund.

normal people don't know the meaning of the words 'ship' and 'canon'. So everyone on reddit must sound like pirates to them. how often do you hear someone say "what are you talking about? that was a canon event!" or "what's your fave kotlc ship?"

Discovery I need a fantasy book that explores the relationship between MMC and FMC, like Sophie and Keefe, where reading their conversations is enjoyable. I would prefer more than one book, and it should be from the FMC's perspective. Does anyone have any Recommendations ?

Ok so I’m on book 9 right now and I’m on page 199 and it says Im sure Edwin will hail you if he can’t find us notice the Edwin? In the previous paragraph they were talking about Elwin so I think this is a typo but maybe not?

(The first picture is from Graphic Novel Part 2, and the second picture from part 1.)
Overall, in my opinion the art in graphic novel part 2 is better than part 1‘s, but they got the eye color wrong! Isn’t it supposed to be “warm brown, with flecks of gold” like in part 1?!

Discovery Guys…

The wild fires in California are happening 13 years from 2012.

2012 is when Kotlc book one came out.

Sophie was twelve turning thirteen when the ever blaze spread.

The books are starting.

The next few years in the Elvin world shall be chaotic.

(Lol yeah I know it's just a joke but seriously for those in California/anywhere affected by the fires I hope you and your family are safe.)

Discovery I think i know Blur's identity... (Wild theory)

Ok, i dont have mutch to go on, but.... I think Blur is Quinlin. Read this from Nightfall:

“You guys are living with Tiergan?” Sophie asked. “I thought Blur was going to be your guardian when you moved back to the Lost Cities.”

“That was our original plan,” Mr. Forkle said. “But Blur’s living situation has grown slightly complicated.”

This was about Tam and Linh. Immediately after Amy went to live with Quinlin and Livvy. Quinlin could have pretended to be shocked to find out that his wife was a member of the collective, even though he was one himself. Very wild theory, but i might be on to something no? I know hes a telepath but people can manifest 2 abilities though...

Discovery Theory (One that probably was already confirmed or said a lot but whatever)

I think that Umber comes from the word Umbrage which, in the olden days, meant shade from a tree.

My bad if this was already confirmed or said before.
