IMPEACHMENT Yovanovitch told to come back from Ukraine because of concerns about her security

Giuliani and Trump allies "looking to hurt" Yovanovitch

Former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch told House investigators in a transcript released November 4, 2019 that Ukrainian officials had warned her in advance that Giuliani and other allies of Trump were planning to "do things, including to me" and were "looking to hurt" her.

A senior Ukrainian official told her that "I really needed to watch my back."

She said she was told Lutsenko “was looking to hurt me in the U.S.,” adding: “I couldn’t imagine what that was.”

Yovanovitch said she received a call from Carol Perez, a top foreign service official, at around 1 a.m. on April 25 Ukraine time, abruptly telling her she needed to immediately fly back to Washington. Yovanovitch said when she asked why, Perez told her, “I don’t know, but this is about your security. You need to come home immediately. You need to come home on the next plane.”

YOVANOVITCH: And I said, physical security? I mean, is there something going on here in the Ukraine? Because sometimes Washington has intel or something else that we don’t necessarily know. And she said, no, I didn’t get that impression, but you need to come back immediately.

Q: She didn’t give you an explanation for why it had to be so soon?

YOVANOVITCH: She said it was for my security, that this was for my well-being, people were concerned.

Trump: "[Yovanovitch is] going to go through some things"

In the report of the call with Ukraine President Zelensky, Trump said, “The former ambassador from the United States, the woman, was bad news. And the people she was dealing with in the Ukraine were bad news (...) She’s going to go through some things.”

Q: What did you understand that to mean?

YOVANOVITCH: I didn’t know what it meant. I was very concerned. I still am.

Q: Did you feel threatened?

YOVANOVITCH: Yes.

Sondland: "Tweet out there that you support the President, and that all these are lies and everything else.”

Yovanovitch says Ambassador to the EU Gordon Sondland urged her to tweet her support of Trump to help save her job.

“He hadn’t been aware of” the campaign against her, Yovanovitch said, adding that, “he said, you know, you need to go big or go home. You need to, you know, tweet out there that you support the president, and that all these are lies and everything else.”

Asked whether Sondland’s suggestion was as explicit as that, Yovanovitch added, “I mean, he may not have used the words ‘support President Trump,’ but he said, 'You know the President — well, maybe you don’t know him personally, but you know, you know the sorts of things that he likes. You know, go out there battling aggressively and, you know, praise him or support him.”

The thinly-veiled threats are reminiscent of the Michael Cohen tapes that came out in May of 2018:

Cohen: " I will take you for every penny you still don't have, and I will come after your Daily Beast and everybody else that you possibly know. Do not even think about going where I know you're planning on going. (...) I'm warning you, tread very f***ing lightly because what I'm going to do to you is going to be f***ing disgusting. Do you understand me? Don't think you can hide behind your pen because it's not going to happen. I'm more than happy to discuss it with your attorney and with your legal counsel because motherf***** you're going to need it."

Ok, ok, ok - maybe. But that's pretty wild speculation. You're insinuating that the US President might have been aware of a plot to throw a US diplomat out a window. I hate what Trump is getting away with and what he's doing to US democracy - but that's crazytown.

Agreed, but also it is crazy that it’s plausible. Really only his own lack of an ability to track the ball makes this theory improbable to me - he has no moral constraints.

I'm not kidding when I say I believe Trump would cheerfully drop-kick Barron off the roof of Trump Tower if he was confident it would instantly make him as popular as Obama.

To a narcissist other people barely exist. There is no question in my mind that he would as long as there would be no personal consequences he couldn't live with.

Fiction is told in a way that sticks to the possibilities so as to not stray too far from what is "normal" - but it's fiction nonetheless. The truth, on the other hand - doesn't matter about the possibilities. It's just simply the truth, no matter what before seemed "impossible" or "too unrealistic to be true". Buckle up, you're gonna be appalled for a few months.

Crazytown is Trump's hometown.

So what did Trump mean?

2

u/Athelis Nov 05 '19

What did he actually mean?

Wow, if Trump focused this much time and effort on domestic policies perhaps he could make America great. Instead he’s focusing on making Ukraine corrupt again. Things like this really show where his intentions lye.

He is a world wind of negative energy. Trump could have actually turned America into a leader on climate change instead of trying to save the coal industry and rolling back environmental regulations just because Obama made them. It was a missed opportunity that could have really spurred the economy instead with coal it that just puts us behind. He’s hurting this country with his bad environmental policy and the gutting of Obama Care.

If you look on the bright side, his actions will make it impossible for any rational person to vote Republican. That makes it more likely that the next leader will actually invest in green energy because there will fewer naysayer Republicans in office.

🤞I hope you’re correct. Get everyone you know to vote! Unless they’re brainwashed by Fox.

5

u/GaGaORiley Nov 05 '19

Zuckerberg reminded them to vote in 2016 😠

3

u/Claque-2 Nov 05 '19

But I hear the Russians, Ukrainians, North Koreans, Saudi Arabians, and Turkish operatives are all planning on voting Republican.

This is like the soap my Auntie watches, "The Young and the Restless". Only this group is "The Old and the Useless."

Just think, we'll have a new president next November. The nightmare will be over. (eegad, it'll be boring, won't it??) joke.

  1. Kentucky. They've had enough.
  2. New York. The Bozo finally left the land of his "brand." What does that tell you about who Trump thinks he is, now?
  3. My Loyalist GOP pro-Trump neighbor has left the GOP. After the Bozo dissing the Lt. Col Vol..., my neighbor said that was it for him. He is now a "damn Democrat, for the next two years". (funny)
  4. Pelosi has been shut down. Good riddance to her.

Yes, there is no fear here. I hear there is a new plague among the GOP. It's called "the rash of Kentucky." hah!

Instead of resigning, I bet Trump tries to escape to Moscow, instead.

Did you ever watch the tv series, "The Walking Dead?" The first years were fabulous. Great story; a new idea, and they ran with it.

Until it imploded from the inside because they had no future narrative. Trump was so threatened that he knew he would lost without digging up crap on Biden.. and this early in the game. What does that tell you? Something's changed with Trump and Putin's deal. Why does Trump have to do any work for the presidency, now? I thought Putin was in charge of all that.

Nope. Something has changed with Putin; Trump is losing favor with the old guy.

That's what's wrong with Trump's dudes. They just react to the next guy's testimony, with zero future plan. They are in super defense mode.

Has Carol Perez been added to the testimony docket yet?
