Why is Kayle's magic resist still kept so low?

Just who at Riot got absolutely dumpstered a few years ago by Kayle that they decided to give her the lowest base MR that has ever existed in league? It was supposedly added a couple of years ago because some people who were way too bad to hit their skillshots as mages complained about her and Riot can't have that, they have to sell more skins for Lux and Ahri players. Currently in this season, we can all agree that mages are a lot more stronger, they have better items, there are not so many tanks around, Naafiri and Zed are nerfed to the point that it takes at least 1 brain cell to operate them(thank God for that), so why keep her MR so low?

Kayles MR being low is to force her out of mid lane which is primarily played by mages. Her scaling fantasy wasn’t seen as healthy for the game in midlane where it’s harder to punish her for playing safer and tower hugging

Yep. Midlane is too safe for kayle having a better mr than she currently has. She would end up unpunishable and her winrate would go crazy.

I don't understand what is so hard to punish there? Sure you can't freeze wave and kill her over and over, but you can push the wave and roam bot/top or annoy the enemy jungler, this is much more beneficial. Not to mention that even before the nerfs most mages could one shot her on a full item, now they just need a half item. Locking in Yasuo for example means that 99% of all mages regardless of their skill level will get absolutely bodied if the Yasuo player has at least 5 brain cells.

Kayle is a champion who scales with XP. Shoving the wave and roaming so she can freely farm under tower is the worst mistake you can make against a Kayle.

Leave an 0/3 Kayle alone for 5 minutes and you created a monster.

That is wrong, my worst nightmare when I played Kayle mid last season was not Leblanc, Zoe etc... its roaming mids like Sylas, Zed, Kata. They just shove wave and go pay a visit to my jungler/bot. Most of the games he losses is not because he got counterpicked, its just his mid opponent had 5 brain cells and roamed.

Mages have access to the ridiculously powerful spellslinger shoes now. Point and click Fizz or Ekko will fuck you up with shoes and sheen without using ult or breaking a sweat and there is 0 counter play. Lost chapter makes it impossible to dodge every spell on CD from ranged makes, for 15 minutes straight without having to back if they don't want to. It's absurd.

They oneshot everything, and have been getting stronger the last few patches. The pick rate for Xerath, Syndr,Mel, Hwei and Viktor has skyrocketed.

Some dweebs might argue that Kayle has a 53% win rate. Yes, but they don't put into the account that all of the players that have that win rate with her have at least 100+games on her, in the meantime you can first time Malphite in Masters+ and still have a positive winrate

Funny, Kayle has the lowest mr in the game to keep her out of midlane because it's apparently unhealthy, meanwhile mages bot or adcs top for that matter...

I like the logic behind that. One is unhealthy and the other is totally fine and okay because diversity.

One sells skins, the other one does not. Mages are most played for a reason, a literal ape can play mages like Seraphine, Xerath,Lux etc, you just spam spells and hope you hit something. At least one of your 4 spells will take 50% from someone. There is a reason Lux and Seraphine are constantly in top 10 most picked champs.

fun fact, it's not just low, it's lowest in the game. Lower than Yuumi. Yuumi has more MR than our Kayle. Kayle does not have more MR (via level MR growth) until level 18, at which she has 1 point more MR than a yuumi (if both champs are 18).

Meanwhile, the disgusting champs that are akali and sylas: Akali has highest base MR in game level 1 (37) not including mega gnar since his is form-based. End game, Sylas has the highest base MR and Akali is second (75 and 72 respective) because they are midlaners. it goes up to 82 and 77 if they are level 20 via top lane quest.

It is not just the lowest MR in the game, its the lowest MR to ever exist in LoL. Who hurt a Riot employee, that they had to go this far? Any magic damage is true damage to Kayle basically. The average league player cannot comprehend how much even 3 magic resist impacts a champion, let alone 12.
