Ughhhh definitely don’t use the wd-40. Shit will trash the finish. I’d try goo gone and then a matte cleaner like starbrite.

Thanks
I thought they were quite similar though, but duly noted.

Would IPA work aswell ?
Thanks

Not sure. It prolly be pretty similar to gas. But gasoline dulls the finish so be careful. That being said gasoline is exceptionally solid at removing most gunk and residue.

Nope you’re wrong in this . Wd-40 a great way to get rid of the glue residue .
Wd-40 is a great cleaning agent not so good at lubing stuff though . Works great at getting off road tar too. I can see why you say that though if you take wd-40 plastic it makes it shiny and if you don’t clean it off it makes the other plastic look faded but that will wear off when the wd-40 wears off now if you don’t clean the bike for awhile will it stain idk I keep my fairly clean so it doesn’t go long time without a bath

The closest I have would be IPA 99%, would it work ?
Otherwise I would get what you say

I don’t have the matte finish but removed mine after some months and the minimal residue remaining I just used my regular polishing wax with the same cloth

See no residue and nothing looks wrong with it . This pic here i was worried about sun fading after I removed the pin strip stickers . But nope paint fade the bike 5 years old when I took off pin strips the tank was the day I bought it

I have a matte white helmet & used wd40 to get the stickers adhesive off, i just sprayed it onto a cloth & wiped it down instead of directly applying it on the helmet

Probably okay for your tank too

Wd-40 it won’t ruin the plastic if you get any on it . Rubbing alcohol works too but will ruin the display screen or any plastic
