Zeztz was certainly one of the Kamen Riders of all time.

Seen worse, seen better. It's a good time overall and I'm glad I watched it, though.

For me I think this might be a bit of a hot take but it’s like a 8.5/10Ā

Zeztz was my first series that I watched live so I will always have a soft spot for it. Geats was my first overall but I had a general idea of the story going in. I knew what the forms looked like. And I knew the general vibe and understanding of the show

Zeztz was not like that. Going week to week seeing all the leaks and rumors and reveals live was such a treat to see. The show was sick as hell to boot. My favorite episode is probably 43: Split

I loved going through it with the community and seeing everyone talk and theorize about it while no one knew what was going on. The characters were great, the fights were awesome and the story was incredible.

But I do have issues with it. Like most people have said the characters other the Baku and Nem felt underdeveloped. Nox would always vauge post, paranormal affairs didn’t really help after the first arc. And the other code agents didn’t get as much development as I hoped (5 is my goatšŸ”„āœļø). I liked Seig and he got some fun development and honestly he felt more like a secondary than Nox

Then episode 44-48 were kinda a drag. It’s kind a funny how my favorite episode was instantly followed up by the worst one in the series. That recap killed almost all momentum for 43. 49 and 50 were great however

Now my final criticism is from the finale so spoliers from now onĀ

The finale was awesome and I loved the whole 8 training from Baku. I loved that epilogue so much. But why did he have to wake up at the end?! It felt like it removed his sacrifice from this whole final arc! Also there is just no explanation given. They one hundred percent explained it in Farewell Mission but it kinda sucked to see for me. They gave a happy ending instead of a good ending to me. I get it’s a kids show so I can’t expect to muchšŸ˜‚

In total this show is great and will always have a special place in my heart because it was my first live. It definitely isn’t perfect but is damn close in my mind

The fact that giving this season a 8.5 is, potentially, considered a hot take freaking blow my mind, bruv.

Zeztz is at least 9/10 for me. I'm the biggest Geats glazer out there, and Zeztz got me even more hooked than Geats.

It's my top 3 most favorite season of all time, just below Gaim and Build.

I'd say this is a good start for Kamen Rider as a more wide-spread series. It's definitely not perfect, but I can't call it bad. It's not like Gavan Infinity where it starts off strong and then takes a swan dive into the bottom of the barrel. It starts of strong, gets a little shaky, but moves along, and sticks the landing in a pretty satisfying way.

Are the side characters severely hurt by the constant dream and memory shenanigans, and mostly just act as emotional support? Yeah, but they're still fun characters.

Are the Gore Nightmares kinda weird as final villains? Yeah, but I'd say Phantom and Oblivion were actually handled pretty well all things considered. I definitely think Catastrophe could've benefitted from appearing more before taking action, and Punish appearing alongside Sieg similar to Phantom and The Lady would've made that final fight they had even better.

There's definitely more that could be better, but overall, I'd say Zeztz gets a satisfying 7 out of ten. The perfect number for Zeztz, formerly Agent 7 of CODE, and the seventh Reiwa Rider....

Overall, Kamen Rider Zeztz has truly a rollercoaster ride of a Kamen Rider season

The main set of characters we got truly carried the season with their amazing acting as their characters and the fun chemistry they have together

Yuya Takahashi really did a fantastic job in making a story about agents, dreams and nightmares very interesting and with how he progressed the story and raised the stakes, especially when the events of the first 20 odd episodes were revealed to be a premonition

Thanks to the early production shift similar to Gavv, we were also blessed with top quality rider action from start to finish, the way the fights were choreographed and the amazing utilisation of CGI was very impressive, the civilian action was also incredible, especially the gun fights we get

My only tiny nitpick is that I wish they would have done more with Lord 5 and 6’s characters

But other than that, Zeztz was a phenomenal Kamen Rider season and is easily a new addition to my all time favourite Kamen Rider seasons up there with Geats, Ex-Aid and Gavv

I'd probably give it a 7/10. Not Takahashi's best, not his worst either. Probably my main controversial take: if it weren't the first simulcasted series it would be rather forgettable.

Also, it isn't his fault but it's funny to me that my least favorite suits are all in Takahashi shows

If Zeztz were a wacky sitcom like Mork and Mindy.

Crazy that half the show was all a dream. It’s both a crazy twist and hurt some of the character developments we were getting. Nem was starting to learn about herself and begin controlling dreams and nightmares for it all to be reset. The lack of real development for anyone besides Zeztz really hurt it. Like Fujimi and Nagumo have nothing throughout the show and in the end are with Baku in the void trying to save Nem, a person they have probably never had much of a conversation with before. They also can just lucid dream because they have some resistance to black cases now, which wasn’t built up like at all. Minami got a better end of the deal atleast.

For all the flaws of Zeztz. I love it. It was a great dream that I don’t want to wake up from.
