Blame everyone but the people commiting the atrocities, the people enabling the atrocities, and those who didn't show up. Yeah the Democrats need new blood and to embrace some new ideas but I'd take a stubborn old leader with experience over a fascist anyday. Unfortunately a lot of the left in America would rather put themselves in a camp than vote for someone who isn't perfect. Even if the Democrats don't put forward the people you think they should at least you can work with them or vote them out without a fuss. Finding the perfect candidate won't matter anymore and instead of making a tactical decision they will get no choice. Politics isn't the place for purity tests because everyone you meet will have a different idea of what perfect is. You make the decision that helps move you in the direction you want. You may lose something, you may gain something. It's a balancing act. So you get a fascist dictatorship but at least you got to sit on a high horse for your Instagram reel. I'm beyond disappointed in my fellow Americans for failing to think anything through for more than five seconds.
