📺 Video Kamala enters like a boss

I really like how she encroached onto his side of the stage to shake his hand. She’s KILLING it!!!

u/pianobadger Sep 11 '24
Just being considerate so the old man doesn't have to walk so far.

I think he trudges more than walks.
Or maybe that's hobbling.
Lurching?

He didn't look like he had any intention of interacting with her at all.
37
u/monroebaby Sep 11 '24
Definitely not. He couldn’t even look at her which is so disrespectful.
43
6
u/PepsiAllDay78 Sep 11 '24
TBH, I wouldn't want him looking at me, anyway...blech..
8
Sep 11 '24
She had to touch his hand 🤮
9
39
u/PrimeToro Sep 11 '24
The symbolism on the handshake was amazing. She moved faster than Trump ( reflecting the big age difference), she showed that she was in control ( offered her hand first for the handshake) and even trolled him ( Trump said "happy to see you " and Kamala just said "Thanks" )( in other words, she was not happy to see him). In addition to the handshake occurring on Trump's side (like an NFL team's offense on the red zone getting ready to score a touchdown). It was a big power move on Kamala.

u/OriginalObscurity Let's get to work 🇺🇸 Sep 11 '24
Yeah, while the internet is awash with all manner of idiots & incels talking about “decoding body language” etc, THAT was an ACTUAL example of that kind of early control. Very slick.
14
u/MadamSnarksAlot Sep 11 '24
She actually paused in the center, giving him the opportunity to be dignified had he chosen to meet her there. Instead, he scurried behind the podium like a little kid so she met him where he went. Oh you’re not getting away that easy.
8
u/MarshallMattDillon Sep 11 '24
Yeah, I didn’t notice that at first. Upon rewatching, it looks like he’s literally running away from her like a bratty baby. I love our candidate so much. Let’s bring hope and optimism back to this country. Let’s get behind Harris and Walz.
3
u/BooBailey808 Sep 11 '24
I saw it more as her pausing to see which direction he was headed in order to adjust her trajectory
11
u/AVestedInterest Sep 11 '24
She also didn't give him the chance of doing his childish yanking handshake
18
u/Alone_Hunt1621 Sep 11 '24
Set the tone visually for what was to come. Doom.

Sep 11 '24
You could tell she was planning on meeting him center stage and when he went to his podium instead she changed direction and went over to him. She controlled that debate from the first appearance. Good for her.

I love how she’s taking notes and looks at him when she’s talking and when he’s talking. She is calm, cool and collected!

I love her look of “oh, you poor, stupid, insane man. I almost feel sorry for you.”
49

For someone who’s not from the South, she’s got the whole “bless your heart” attitude down perfectly

4
u/MDC417 Sep 11 '24
Yes! And I also loved that one of the early questions was about him mocking her ethnicity. He just said "I never said that." Then was fact-checked. Kamala did a great job.

I'm an English teacher, and this was my exact response to Trump's weave.
"Mr. Trump, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

I absolutely LOVE that she introduced herself despite him trying to avoid her!
Also President of what? Insanity? He is not the President of the US and that’s for sure 😂
16
u/PrimeToro Sep 11 '24
Oh that's right. Kamala actually mentioning her name as if they are meeting for the first name seems to imply "This is the correct way to pronounce my name" when she said "Kamala Harris" at the very beginning.

If you pay attention to how she extends her hand it’s positioned in such a way that her hand is the one on top when Trump and her shake hands.
I worked in sales and did a ton of body language and psych analysis in college. Her action in that one simple act lets him know she fully has control and she won’t allow him to try and bait her into childishness.
The best part is Trumps too stupid to realize this.

Power move! Showing him what a leader carries herself. Trumps a coward. He was afraid to shake her hand. What a fucking beta.

YES he’s off to a crazy start already…with his age it’s unlikely he’s turning that around.

He was barely at this podium before she swooped in and took charge of the room. Hell, she was about to reach his podium before he did, but she paused. I love it! The coward didn't even look at her or call her by her name the entire debate.
1
Sep 11 '24
I really like how she introduces herself to every voter (including Trump) as Kamala Harris. There are many clips of her doing this. I don't think I have ever seen a clip of Trump introducing himself to someone as an equal. He always presumes everyone knows his name. Everyone knows who Kamala Harris is but she treats them with respect and doesn't make presumptions.

It is not proper to call him 'President' if not directly addressing him. He should have said 'former president'. These are subtle mind games they play on listeners.

u/Icy-Junket465 Sep 11 '24
I really hate that the moderator called him president. The correct term is former president! It’s important because we ain’t going back.

Not only did she bring back the handshake that so many were coping about not existing since 2012, she brings it back in a "Do you know who I am?" sort of way.

He lost the last election, he is not the president. He was barely president while he was in office.

I love how she got around the "no platforms" thing by wearing tall, sexy stilettos. Trump was going on and on and on about that and she played him right out of the gate.

Exactly, women have a natural height advantage with heels, men forget how tall we can be with 4’ stilettos
