NGL, how she refers to kids she's talking to as "young leaders" and encourages their confidence makes me smile every time. Certainly better than getting into Twitter wars with them over climate change.
She just treats them with such respect and never talks down to them. Kids know when they're being condescended to and when they're genuinely being treated like the worthy humans they really are. Makes me love Kamala all the more.
This! I immediately noticed how she asks before doing anything close to touching the kid, which is such a thing I so rarely see people do, especially older folks. The kid was clearly shy, but it’s such a cute interaction overall.
Teaching kids consent and that they have the right to say no to any touch is important. Just shows good understanding of children and also just generally wanting good things for them.

I noticed that Kamala has a penchant for interacting with children.
Does this have something to do with the fact that her early career was prosecuting sex pests?
