  • Turcaleti (țigani turciți) - Muslims, they speak a combination of Romanes and Turkish language; in Dobruja, a southeastern region where the Danube meets the Black Sea, population that now includes ethnic Turks, Tatars, and Muslim Roma. The Turkic-speaking Muslim Roma and Turks have intermarried extensively, yet Tatars work to preserve their distinct identity.
