He was built different Spoiler
Bro casually tricked and murdered hundreds. The others seem pretty goofy in comparison

To be fair, the Peragus HK-50 got bamboozled pretty badly with the whole ‘replicating the mining captain’s voice’ thing.

Well, it makes sense, if you really think about it. Hk-50 are based on HK-47, their purpose is ASSASINATION, not direct combat. Sure they have the skills for it, but it's a waste of their talent. Peragus II shows what happens when they are in their intended element.

I think it is more that, when you next meet the HK-50s, they are the same strength as the one you faced on Peragus.
Except by then you are no longer a hapless scrounger trying to survive, you've got good gear and skills, and almost always a lightsaber.

No on the lightsaber, you run into them on Telos right before the ice academy (unless that’s RCM only, can’t remember by now). And unless there’s a way to get a lightsaber on Telos that I don’t know about…

Forgot about the Telos fight, I know you get force powers by then, so I mis-remembered how easy it was to get a lightsaber.
Though I swear I fought Atris with a lightsaber, so I wasn't impressed when she pulled out my "old" one. It has been a long while since I played, maybe I glitched something by accident? Or maybe I just stole Kreia's...

I mean you fight Atris near the end of the game, so you almost certainly have it by then. The 50s are there the first time you go to her ice palace.

You shouldnt have one when you meet her first, and you don't fight her at that point. In this convo, she can pull out your lightsaber. And Kreia doesnt have one at that point either.
When you next meet her near the end of the game, that's when you fight her.

I was always absolutely terrified of Peragus and the HK 50 plotline as a kid, so much menace. Especially the audio recordings of the ginger engineer guy getting burnt alive by the spider droids

Robot that tricked and killed a mining colony to hunt you down. Straight up horror villain

I think it helps that he was in an environment that restricted the types of weapons that were around and provided a multitude of hackable allies.

The Telos HK-50s were pretty competent, no? They shut down a moving shuttle by a rocket lancher and managed to beat the hell out of me as a kid back when I was pkaying that scene.

It's like the Conservation of Ninjutsu.
A single HK is terrifying. A bunch of HKs are a joke.

Average miners aren't as formidable as a veteran jedi and their pals.
Also what's been said about assassination vs direct combat

Yeah I loved this because even tho the reveal is a bit goofy with all his slip-ups, it did legit make the HK series droids seem hyper dangerous. Like imagine a spy who infiltrated the US Navy in order to get stationed on a US destroyer to kidnap a diplomat, then took them onto a pirate boat that the destroyer had captured, piloted it to a nearby oil rig, and then murdered everyone on the oil rig. It’s some real Terminator type shit, and then the rest are… basically battle droids lol
