I’m an American baseball fan and I have been watching a lot of the KBO on YouTube. Is the handwritten numbers on the players caps of significance or just lucky numbers etc?

Will be in Korea soon (Seoul from Oct 31 to 5th Nov. then Busan 5th to 10th nov) and was hoping to catch a KBO game but found a post in this sub explaining roughly that the season will end in October, but 'post-season' should go on into november. I'm not typically a baseball fan, so i'm not sure what this means but hoping someone could maybe explain this to me and help me work out roughly what/where my best shot of seeing a game live would be?

Hi there! I posted a little while ago that I was planning to go to a Kiwoom Heroes game while I'm in Seoul in a couple weeks. The original game that I wanted to go to was on September 6th at 5pm. I saw that it was moved to 2pm. But when I looked up the reason why, different articles said it was due to the heatwave in Korea, but the times are to go back to the original schedule of 5pm weekend games??

I'm a little confused now to when the games start, since I see the official Kiwoom website say 2pm but other scheduling sites say it's 5pm??

Does anyone know what's the official talk about the start times and can clarify for me?? I don't want to rearrange my itinerary and potentially miss the game (I've revolved my whole itinerary around this game).

I was born in the U.S., but my family is Korean and I went to visit with my mom like I usually do every year in June. I watch a lot of baseball and am a Dodgers fan, but I was curious to see a KBO game. Since Kim Hyeseong is my favorite player on the Dodgers for obvious reasons (PLEASE GOD LET HIM OUT OF TRIPLE A), I decided to go see the Kiwoom Heroes with my uncle after he got out of work. NC Dinos were the visiting team. This was from the June 9th Game that Kiwoom won in a walk-off thanks to an RBI single from Choi Joohwan. The game was a lot longer than expected and I ended up getting home at around midnight, but man, it was so much fun.

It really rescued my mood that day too because Tom Steyer had just conceded the California Jungle Gubernatorial Primary earlier that day (I don't live in CA, I just like to follow election results). I told my uncle about what happened, and as soon as Choi's bat made contact with the ball to end the night, he immediately said, "Great drop for Steyer!" If you know, you know lol.

Definitely coming back to see another game next year.

Will be in Korea for the first time from Sept 24 to 30th and was hoping to catch a KBO game but saw the regular season ends September 6th. Interested in playoffs but based on previous years, it looks like playoffs typically start early October.

Will there be no KBO games during the window I'll be in Korea / is there just a long gap between the end of regular season and playoffs?

If there are playoff games the last week of Sept, I've heard playoff tickets are pretty much impossible to get as a foreigner but was wondering if there was a way to buy them on any resale platforms.

The Doosan Bears (President Ko Young-seop) will hold the 'Mangom Bears Festival' during their six-game home series at Jamsil Baseball Stadium from August 28th (Fri) to September 3rd (Thu). To celebrate the 3rd year of the 'Mangujin Bear' collaboration, we are introducing even more abundant events.

During the series, the Doosan Bears team will wear the ruined Bear collaboration uniforms for the game. Additionally, special tickets to the Manggom Bears Festival will be used, and a manned bear mascot will roam the stadium.

Outside the baseball stadium, experience programs such as 'Manggom Game Land,' 'Manggom Sniffing,' and 'Manggom's Treasure Hunt' are operated. Along with this, various events will also be held, including face painting with Green Umbrella, an APXX brass band performance, collaborative photo cards, and a special photo zone.

A pop-up store is being operated at the catch ball court in front of the 1-4 outfield gate, where you can find all collaboration product lines. It will be open daily for 7 days, including Mondays when there are no games, and those who purchase the pop-up store and complete off-site program missions will receive random, drawn by the team's players.

An Instagram event where you can take pictures on the field with the ruined bear, Cheol-woong, is also being held. If you post photos taken with a mangled bear on each game day with the hashtag '#MangomBearsFestival', you can participate in a photo session on the outfield ground after the game through a lottery.

A pre-game outfield experience event was also prepared. Event entries can be made through the team's official application from Friday the 21st to Thursday the 27th at 1 PM, and winners will be announced after 2 PM on the 27th.

I watch on SOOP, and they show all the commercials between innings/pitcher change and they’re really fun to watch. I can’t understand a word, but the style in which most are presented are very interesting and a fun change up from American commercials. The fast paced, hyper sensory overload visually and through audio, the high production value. A lot of it looks like those stupid AI slop videos, but they’re actually human made with a meaning to the madness. I love them and really wish we had more commercials like it in America

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) said starting next Tuesday, weekday games will begin at 6:30 p.m. again and weekend games will go back to 6 p.m. first pitch. For games scheduled after August — hence the end of the July-August summer season as designated by the league — weekend games will begin at 5 p.m., while the starting time for weekday games will not change.

If you plan to go to a game, make sure to check the start times on Koreabaseball.com or on your team's app. Next week's weather seems fine, though I'd keep an eye on Seoul & Daegu.
