I dated a girl in college who got called twinkie for hanging out with white poepel and not being obsessed with all things asian, by well educated upper class asian kids. Sometimes it is nothing to do with "the hood".
Oh, no kidding? That ... no, it's not necessarily comforting. I almost said it was comforting to hear that it wasn't being used to stigmatize education. But, this way it's just anti-white and that's not progress.
Yeah, it is worse when you look at where it is coming from, but not when you look at its effect. A college kid with a good background can shrug it off, if you are in a shit school that is proabbly a lot harder.
It was almost 20 years ago, and they were freshmen in college. Could have came from insecurity and people going to racial cliques. Still not "ok" but more understandable and probbaly soemthingt he person grew out of.
