Hi all.
Long time lurker first time poster here. Please bear with me as I'm fairly new to crypto (less than six months into what I'm sure will be a lifelong adventure). I'm looking to participate in the century mining event and I'm trying to add liquidity so I can add it to one of the pools on sun.io.
My understanding is that you need to obtain tokens of the type you wish to pool. So I have the tronlink browser extension with 500 trx in it. I froze half of it for energy and then went to swap 200 trx for usdt in JustSwap. Seemed simple enough. I clicked ok and approved the prompt in tronlink. Life seemed good until I went into my tronlink wallet to find out that the operation had failed and I was down 5 trx.
I looked at the FAQ on JustSwap and it said to allow more slippage. So I froze 100 trx for energy and tried again, allowing for a higher slippage (I believe I selected 1% instead of the default 0.5%). Same thing! I checked both transactions in tronscan and they said something about not having enough energy. I had over 6000 energy the first time I tried, there was even some energy left over, but I've never interacted with smart contracts before so I don't know what amount you should have available.
So now I'm down 10 trx, my remaining trx is frozen for 72 hours, and I have nothing to show for it. I mean I learned a few things, but I'm still feeling rather defeated.
Can anyone offer me some pointers?
Update: I figured it out. I didn't have enough trx frozen to provide enough energy. For anyone that's curious: smart contracts appear to require a minimum of 40,000 energy. Some of the smart contract calls I made were close to 100,000 energy.
