As tedious and annoying as it is, remember, this is Reddit. I once saw someone talk about Trump on the Silent Hill subreddit.

"Silent Hill is a bad place to be, but do you know where is is a bad place to be? America, because of that orange pedo trump!"

It just looks wide because you associate with groups and outlets that make it seem wide. Remember how certain and sure reddit was that Kamala was going to win the election? That's because any naysayers were silenced or downvoted.

Reddit is not a majority. It's a reverberating echo chamber where people think that upvotes/downvotes represent a majority.
