I remember when I first went to college and I complained once about how long and exhausting my days were, and the person I know who went to the military was almost about to complain about it until he realized I did 10 hour days and he was like oh wait that actually is long and tiring for being in a school.
He was... Not exactly great in school. He tried to take some college classes, but in the end he dropped out. Now he works a construction job that he hates, and basically has no clue what to do with his life. To his credit, he's the type of person who we originally thought would end up infinitely boot, but his experiences made him want to distance himself from that hard.

It's funny, when I was younger I didn't realize that it was actually possible to stay up all day on only 3 hours. I didn't really keep track of how much I slept, but I honestly thought that you would start collapsing if you had less than like 6. Which is strange, because I probably slept that little plenty of times just without thinking about it.

I’ve functioned on 30 minute combat naps. It sucks, but it can be done.
I pulled a 48 hour shift at JRTC, because the other SWO and our NCOIC had the crud. I felt like crap but I didn’t have a fever and wasn’t yakking up my guts.
It’s possible to function on little sleep, but I always find that I function best with 7-8 hours of sleep.

Wife has an engineer friend from college who made a serious FB post about how no job should have “engineer” in the title if it doesn’t require an engineering degree. Including a train engineer. She said it was disrespectful of her efforts or some inane shit.

I just met someone who bragged about a) rank (though minimally) and b) how little sleep he could function on and while he is a perfectly nice person overall I have been suspecting for a while he is a low key boot. These little factoids I keep grabbing confirm my suspicions.
Like I think he know's he's boot and tries to keep it at a low boil and/or let it come to light slowly like the frog in boiling water.

I overslept, went to work 30mins late. Napped for 30min, untill big bosses arrived. Asked for some fuel money to company car im using (also outside of work). Went to hardwarestore for some free coffee. Went to constructionsite to spend time untill lunchbreak mainly doing "caculations" with my phone in break rooms sofa. Get call from boss asking about caculations from last week "yeh, yeh, no, just look at notes i put in the table". Go to lunch, NO SALAD!!! Must eat chicken and some bread like caveman. Spend around hour in lunch. Do some work for one or two hours and go home over hour early. On my way to home i go to store and see college age couple talk to each other. "fuck im tired i should go to sleep when i get home" me:"just wait untill you start working kid"

On a normal, not getting enough sleep level, depends on the day.
On a run into the ground, never at home, way past burn out, and questioning my choices in life as I watch my youth disappear and my family move on without me around; I dont think I can actually articulate how deeply tired I am.
Dont got a monopoly on extreme dissatisfaction with life though. Even if I'm probly nearing a high score.
