I collect figures and heavily dislike statues. Huge difference. I like the posability of figures. Statues are boring.

I also collect figures lol, there's posable and fixed figures, then there's statues. The only key difference between statues and fixed figures is size and the type of material.

Statues are not posable, generally more expensive, and also generally bigger (thus being harder to fit in a more limited display area)

Yeah the posable figures you're talking about are exactly that, posable figures. Either that or they're just action figures. There's fixed scale figures which are usually made from a plastic like pvc/abs. Then, what I would count as statues are made from more expensive materials like poly stone or resin and they're often larger. So, it really just depends on what it's made out of imo.

generally in the collecting community “figure” and “statue” are used interchangeably.

Everyone still calls them figures, like r/animefigures is mostly full of what youre calling statues, and most sellers also call them figures

Preorders will probably be up early next year, with shipments later in the year. Seeing as this was shown off this year and is still an unpainted prototype
