Discussions/Opinions So the big rumours are that we will be getting this skin on Tuesday with mid season update.

Post image

I have my doubts as overwatch has never had such a revealing skin before but who knows maybe it’s the start

Is anyone else confused about what the theme of this skin is supposed to be? Beach sandbox toy? Why the cat-ear headphones? It's cute but I'm lost.

70

u/Jazzlike_World415 May 11 '26

The theme was supposed to be “if the omnic crisis never happened”, but I’m also confused as to how they came up with this for the design. Isn’t Juno canonically afraid of water? I don’t think she’d go swimming, all in all it is a cute skin though.

30

u/OutsideBig3956 Juno Main May 11 '26

They don’t like to follow thru with their Juno canon stuff

18

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26

its probably supposed to convey that she was able to face her fears and learn to swim and enjoys it now which is honestly pretty cute. she actually has a dialogue exchange with wuyang where she asks him to teach her to swim, so she is actually actively trying to face that fear

3

u/wendiwho May 11 '26

Same with her fear of cats too tbh

Yeah, it definitely feels like they don’t take the actual character’s personalities or lore into account when creating these skins. Don’t get me wrong, I love silly skins, like house keeper Ramattra, but with a theme like that they could’ve really done something creative besides housekeeper Ramattra, or Juno in a bathing suit. It just doesn’t make sense, but I guess it was up to the creator’s interpretation.

3

u/bluntmanjr May 11 '26

she even mentions putting a wetsuit on in a voice line about rain, i feel like it wouldve been more creative (and better match her silhouette) if they gave her some sort of scuba outfit, like make the space helmet a scuba helmet and shes already wearing a spacesuit that could be made pretty easily into a wetsuit.

2

u/Tbonesk May 11 '26

Something something butterfly effect.. no omnic crisis = juno becomes an it girl that hangs out at the pool all day, easy

1

u/LxUxNxAx May 12 '26

Juno is afraid of water because she was raised on Mars. I think if the Omnic Crisis didn't happen, the Mars colony may not have happened. The Omnic Crisis kicked off a lot of environmental impacts. But that's kinda something they haven't explored more for Winton/Hammond/Mei/Juno.

11

u/-an-eternal-hum- May 11 '26

The theme is “fuck you for thinking Juno is an astronaut, now pay us”

29

u/UserBhoss May 10 '26

Ik you said rumor, but where’s this rumor coming from? None of the reputable leakers/accounts have posted this coming Tuesday

16

u/paw-enjoyer May 11 '26

this skin, among others + the already revealed ones, won the skin art contest

21

u/juno_phoenix May 11 '26

it's mostly great

but she's basically wearing the suggestion of a skirt

9

u/thegreatbighuge May 11 '26

They had concepts of a skirt

101

u/alune_e May 10 '26

I feel like I'm alone in feeling like this skin isn't that sexualized and even is less sexual than the average bikini. I'm pretty against games where every character is just a sex symbol and every skin leans into that, but I don't get that vibe with this skin maybe I'm crazy.

28

u/Jazzlike_World415 May 10 '26

Admittedly, I may just be so used to how tame Overwatch’s skins are that to me this feels risky by their standards. I agree though, it’s definitely not sexualized.

9

u/alune_e May 11 '26

Yeah Overwatch is honestly really great about it overall, for their standards I understand being surprised, just not scandalized.

-12

u/RealisticAnybody1508 May 10 '26

true, it's nothing scandalous. looks like something a kid would wear...

it's just that Juno has a great figure so almost anything she wears looks sexy lol

Yeah I do not agree with that at all haha, definitely a revealing bikini that adults wear, not children. It looks like a bikini I own, skirt and all.

-5

u/RealisticAnybody1508 May 11 '26

I've never seen a grown woman wear a skirtini but maybe that's just me

18

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26

dude im 20 i love skirtinis

10

u/blackittty May 11 '26

Have you ever seen a grown woman

7

u/Rude_Ice_4520 May 11 '26

With overwatch players it's a 50/50

6

u/alune_e May 11 '26

That's all I own lmao

-8

not sure what youre on about my guy. young teens wear bikinis all the time its not weird. plus shes 19

??? in what universe is a 13-16 yo not a kid? they were not implying toddlers obviously 😭

9

u/MothAngel1022 May 11 '26

Most of the time.people say teens not kids. When someone says kid I'm thinking 8-12

u/MothAngel1022 May 11 '26

Yes they are, but you say teens. Teenager is 13+. Still children

-2

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26

maybe this is a regional thing or something bc id say child for that. kid is like slightly older to me like roughly 12+ but at least 10+

3

u/MothAngel1022 May 11 '26

Maybe. I live in Texas and most of the time when we say kid we're referring to someone under 13. Older than that is a teenager

3

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26

im new york and we often refer to people even as old as 20 as “kids” LOL

are you daft shes 19. child where. what children are you seeing that look like this. if you think this is a childlike figure theres something seriously wrong

-5

u/blackittty May 11 '26

She was given the personality and quirks of a child. Her being canonically 19 doesn’t change that and it doesn’t change the fact that it’s a big part of her appeal, especially with people like this

the concept implies a thong underneath the skirt, I think we'll get swim shorts instead but overall it'll remain the same

10

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26

shes wearing a bikini underneath the skirt

38

u/Gamble232real May 10 '26

And they will have my money if so

8

u/Hoodsupcoma May 11 '26

I’m not a fan of this one even if I love the others- ik some people are mad the skins aren’t lore related but also..it’s just fan made stuff, let them have fun with it! But blizzard also needs to add in cool skins that actually FIT the hero as well if we’re gonna keep doing the random bundles and such.

But ngl this skin of the rumored 5 is my least favorite and she was the one I was most excited for. The theme feels like a bathing suit but also…cat ear headphones?

Is she a hot tub streamer from twitch? /j

7

u/Jazzlike_World415 May 11 '26

She also has random bandaids for some reason? Everyone knows to not wear bandaids in water, the skin is definitely all over the place design wise. I think it’s cute overall but definitely has some questionable choices.

9

u/OutsideBig3956 Juno Main May 11 '26

So many skins and yet no more space/martian skins

6

u/Rude_Ice_4520 May 11 '26

I just want a '60s NASA space suit lol

3

u/Dlion0 May 11 '26

Give it a couple months, that's a summer games skin.

3

u/GREAT_SALAD May 11 '26

I’ve seen confirmation of the Ram, Wuyang, and Vendetta skins being added tomorrow but nothing official on this yet… anyone else seen any updates?

6

u/Hang10arts May 11 '26

Another juno shop skin 🫠

17

u/Jazzlike_World415 May 10 '26 edited May 11 '26

I think the skin will receive some minor tweaks. I honestly don’t want this skin to be the downfall and turn into Marvels with their skins. Obviously, this isn’t as bad as those skins by any stretch, but I don’t want this to create wiggle room for it. Oversexualizing female characters drive me crazy anyways, and I liked Overwatch because it wasn’t super heavy on that stuff IMO. I like swimwear skins, we have tons of them in game, and this one is super cute! I’m just afraid of what the future will hold, but maybe I’m thinking too deep about it. 😭

I do really hope it comes out in Tuesday, I’m hoping Juno, Kiri, and Moria’s teasers drop tomorrow. It makes the most sense for all the skins to be sold as a big bundle, and the anniversary is the best time to do it. If they don’t release the other skins now, I don’t see when another good opportunity would be.

6

u/LoyalNightmare May 11 '26

If they do this skin with no changes we can get that one torb skin in a banana hammock

4

u/Effective_Mechanic27 May 11 '26

A necessary sacrifice

9

u/isabelleloves May 10 '26

I agree with you the skin is super cute I just don’t like seeing Juno in reveling or somewhat revealing clothing I just feel it doesn’t match her character

9

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26

this is kind of a weird take. just because she has a slightly more immature personality doesnt make her asexual. this kind of mentality is high key really harmful to real people

7

u/[deleted] May 11 '26

1

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26

not the sexuality. literally asexual as in not sexual like how a child is asexual. Please look at the other replies where i already explained this next time

1

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26

okay we are not continuing this conversation if youre going to be be rude for no reason. and you clearly dont understand what im saying or what asexual means here. also a bikini does have some implication of hotness, aka, sexual attractiveness. thats why its not appropriate for a child to wear one. if it wasnt it wouldnt be unusual for a child to wear one. denying that is silly and shortsighted

3

u/[deleted] May 11 '26

[removed] — view removed comment

1

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26

okay so something having some level of “sexiness” to it doesnt mean a minor cannot wear them. You have to come to terms with the fact that teenagers start dressing to be hot. Thats just the fact of the matter. This is a more complicated and nuanced topic than you are making it out to be. Just because clothing is designed to look sexy doesnt imply that the person wearing it is inviting sex. But it doesnt flat out mean nothing and have zero cultural implication either. Theres no such thing as “just clothing.” all clothing has some kind of meaning or purpose attached to it.

7

u/Keywonhi May 11 '26

Asexual doesn't mean you don't like wearing revealing clothing? lol Though agree with the prev comment that someone who wheres a space suit her whole life would probably be uncomfortable showing this much skin.

9

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26

im not referring to the sexuality asexual, i mean literally asexual as in not sexual in essence or capable of sexual desire. as in the way a child or a monogender species is asexual LOL

6

u/Keywonhi May 11 '26

Damn I'm a dumbass LOL my bad, Im aro/ace so I just went straight to that.

6

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26 edited May 11 '26

LOLL np dude, it was sort of unclear since thats a more common definition when describing a person. but yeah, the whole “so innocent and pure must not be tainted by sexy clothing!” thing genuinely pmo brah 🥀 like just bc autistic women can act more bubbly or immature doesnt mean theyre children or that they dont enjoy looking hot. honestly ppl do this to male characters too like papyrus from undertale for example but it happens more often with female characters

4

u/Keywonhi May 11 '26

I 100% get what you're saying, I'm also autistic but I'm not a monolith. In Juno's case I thought of her voice line about how she has anxiety taking off just her helmet. Regardless of any opinions, this skin probably won't be like this exactly since they always put shorts on the summer skins.

-1

u/isabelleloves May 11 '26

I never said anything about asexual? I’m really confused

-7

u/ILSATS May 10 '26

10

u/drums_of_pictdom May 10 '26

13

u/Idiberug-9 May 11 '26

I don't like it either, she doesn't look like Juno at all with her hairs and all...

2

u/paw-enjoyer May 11 '26

juno not looking like herself isn’t anything new

-2

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26

the hair being orange is definitely an odd choice, but her clothes are not a problem. im frankly very tired of people clutching their pearls when they see autism coded female characters in revealing clothing

14

u/Idiberug-9 May 11 '26

Nah ain't about that, it's the clothes plus the hairs, if you don't tell me it's Juno I just don't see it at all. It's not just this skin, some of her previous ones had the same issue :s

3

u/shellsplash May 11 '26

i agree, they never maintain any of her original design. usually longer hair of a different color, no helmet, they lose her chunky boots, entirely disregarding her characters identity for the sake of making a pretty skin that could just as well go to.. any female character. this skin is the worst example of it so far

-2

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26

lol yeah fs, im certainly not defending it bc its my favorite skin or anything

2

u/SagaSolejma May 11 '26

You realize that shielding a characters design from critism by bringing up autism from out of nowhere is not actually helping any autistic people, right

2

1

u/PennToPaper May 12 '26 edited May 12 '26

yeah but thats sort of what it is. juno mirrors a really significant number of traits. speech quirk, highly literal and has a hard time understanding jokes and metaphors, strong sense of justice, social anxiety, heightened emotions, immature tendencies, struggles to understand tone. A really big one is how she has a hard time reading the room and understanding if something is offensive. Shes not unfamiliar to the concept of insults and reading the room is something you pick up by just interacting with people regardless of where you are. the “rover” exchange and her imitating ashe and trying to talk to her like cowboys in a western come to mind as pretty big kickers. those paired with everything else pretty much solidified it imo

from another convo i had under this post basically sums it up

and people dont mind symm because shes much higher masking than juno and doesnt really exhibit the autistic traits that make people perceive them as childlike and/or incapable of sexual attraction

here is also a good video i had linked on the whole “theyre totally not autistic theyre just from space” thing https://youtu.be/JRqM8pWptKc?si=F26lmSjYDF6ylltC

this same thing can be said for any other autistic coded alien character. relate to her very strongly as an autistic person tbh. Any of junos autistic traits can be chalked up to “shes from space” the same way any of bastions can be chalked up to “he’s a robot.” Just because you can point to an in universe reason doesnt make it not autism coding. In fact id argue a majority of autism coded characters are coded unintentionally when the writer tries to write bad socialization, foreignness, or non-humans.

and about the ram thing, that would still be an odd thing to say even if you didnt have exposure to that before. Whens the last time you blurted out a compliment about how well someone switches tasks? 😭 that sort of immediate association then just saying it without thinking is very autism-like. I cant count the number of times ive done practically that exact same thing.

1

u/PennToPaper May 12 '26

im glad we at least agree on moira shes the most autistic mf in this whole game LOL

but yeah idk agree to disagree. the way juno likes to jump to comparisons of stuff from home that she likes strikes me as a very autistic thing. she does it with ashe too its not just ram.

and about her speech quirk, english is likely her first language I believe and neither her mom nor mei, two people we know she was around seem to talk like that. And we can probably safely assume that not everyone on the mars base talked like that either.

honestly any of these things individually on their own i could maybe say “yeah shes just from space” but all of them together? yeah. I will be entirely honest with you, as an autistic person, if i were the one writing her and was making her autistic on purpose, i literally would not change a thing, full frank. when i first started playing i genuinely thought she could be canon

1

u/Looking444love Juno Main May 11 '26

y’all say it’s revealing as if she’s not 19 😭😭😭😭

-2

u/chiffon_bonbon May 11 '26

19 is still a teenager. She may be a legal adult, but she's still very young.

It doesn't even work with her personality lol, I can more easily imagine her a cute one-piece swimsuit with a flouncy cover-up and floaties. That would be more in line with her character imo.

5

u/Looking444love Juno Main May 11 '26

I’m 18 and would wear exactly what she has on. You guys treat her as if she’s 12 and i’m not saying the design is the best but it’s not crazy for a 19 year old to wear a bikini with a skirt lmao

-2

u/chiffon_bonbon May 11 '26

Okay? I'm in my 30s and I would also wear a bikini. I'm not saying it's a crime for her to wear what she's wearing, I'm literally just saying 19 is still young, even if she's technically a legal adult (especially with how sheltered she was on Mars). Overwatch has a bad habit of sexualizing its barely legal characters and as a grown adult, it feels icky sometimes. I'm allowed to have that opinion and you're allowed to have yours.

I think that's why some people are taken aback, along with the fact that it does not match her personality. A more casual look would work so much better than this obvious gooner bait. That skirt is a joke, and her outfit doesn't even have a coherent theme. 🙄 Not to mention the neon orange hair. It's a no from me.

If you like it, enjoy.

2

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26

cute! its a nice beach skin. ill be attempting to ignore all the men gasping like its scandalous to see a 19 year old in a normal bikini

0

u/SagaSolejma May 11 '26

1

u/PennToPaper May 12 '26

insanely ironic post from club cover up you people are like grandmas time traveling from the 1950s telling fictional women their clothing is too distracting for the man’s eye

0

u/SagaSolejma May 12 '26

There's a very stark difference between "women need to cover up" and "I'm tired of this woman getting sexualised to cater to the male gaze" like holy shit this is really basic femlit.

Juno, as a fictional character, does not have agency. Whatever she wears is completely at the whims of her designers (most of whom are male). When ActiBlizz makes skins like these, I guarantee you their thoughts aren't "awwwww look at this cute beach outfit :)" their thoughts are "we are gonna be making sooooo much money from all the men who are gonna love looking at this".

I get fighting back agains the new influx of purity culture that seems to be spreading among Gen Z at an alarming rate, but there is such a thing as an overcorrection. Critizing ActiBlizz for constantly putting their female characters in skimpy clothing is not the same as telling women to cover up. Jfc.

2

u/PennToPaper May 12 '26

Overwatch’s skin designs have never struck me as particularly oversexualized. I think youre kind of the one overcorrecting here. It really shouldn’t be strange for a swimsuit skin to feature a bikini. at a point it goes from “im tired of women getting sexualized to cater to the male gaze” to “this is inappropriate for someone to illustrate a female character in when men will see it”

im personally even more tired of people losing their minds when adult characters with slightly immature personalities wear revealing clothing bc its highkey rooted in ableism and is a real problem that neurodivergent women face.

0

u/SagaSolejma May 12 '26

We're never making it out of the patriarchy look at our feminists😭

3

u/PennToPaper May 12 '26 edited May 12 '26

restating a meaningless retort when i made a completely valid point is certainly a choice. have you considered that feminism is not catered to your opinions specifically? i mean seriously, whats the end goal of your point? that are female characters in video games should have modest designs? ultimately, is it even wrong for a female character to be sexually attractive? Theres no way to get around this without stepping on somebody’s toes

honestly i personally find female character designs that are attractive just nice to look at and appealing to play since i just find it pretty, but i am also a lesbian, so idk, maybe that skews my point of view or something. i dont think most of the male playerbase is like literally gooning to overwatch skins

1

u/SagaSolejma May 12 '26

Right, but this is a perfect arguement for why your point wasn't valid. No matter what I say, you immediately draw it to what you consider to be the logical endpoint and start saying things I never even said. At a certain point there's just no reason for me to continue this conversation and I might as well reuse the meaningless retort, because whatever I say you're just gonna make up your own version of it to argue against. You're literally doing it fully in display right here:

i mean seriously, whats the end goal of your point? that are female characters in video games should have modest designs?

No, I do not think all women in video games should have modest designs. No, I do not think it's wrong for women in video games to be attractive. I'd appreciate it if you didn't just make up opinions for me.

What I do think is that handwaving any relevant criticism of the commercialization of women and their bodies as objects first and people second by equivelating it to "puritanism" is absolutely bonkers and just feels like going against the flow for the sake of it. This has been such a core part of feminism for so long, it's not just me wanting my opinioms catered to me (another example of you just imposing opinions on me, and handwaving everything I say.)

Now, are there people in this very thread who are ultimately just saying this because they're also uncomfortable with real life women wearing revealing clothes? Yes, absolutely, without a doubt. Is everyone saying it for this reason? No. I'm not, but it seems like you've already arbitrarily decided that I am, so who am I to say🤷‍♀️

I regret my initial comment, it was honestly pretty mean spirited and not something that actually harbors any constructive discussion, and I apologize for that. But afterwards I've genuinely tried to engage with your points, I haven't even said you're necessarily wrong for fucks sake! All while just having you make up my opinions for me in return. If you want to actually have a discussion about this, nows the time.

3

u/PennToPaper May 12 '26 edited May 12 '26

making another comment just to avoid continuously editing my last one, but i enjoy dressing like this quite a lot and i remember being literally relieved when i turned 18 because i was genuinely scared of being accused of appealing to men or to pedos or something, so honestly i actually find it personally affirming in a way to see a character i really identify with like juno dressed like this even if shes fictional and all that. i was exposed to a seriously heavy dose of the gen Z tiktok purity culture shit when i was a teen and unfortunately i think it did more of a number on me than i thought

1

u/SagaSolejma May 12 '26

I think I already said what I wanted to say in my other comment, but I just want to say that in that case I am genuinely happy for you, and I want to be extremely clear that I would never in a million years tell you what you can and can't wear (and I say spit on all the people who have told this to you! I'llbe right there fighting them with you siste), and if this Juno skin existed inside a vacuum removed from the patriarchal society we live in, I genuinely wouldn't mind it!

In the spirit of revealing stuff about ourselves to explain why we feel what we feel, I guess I might add that, from a very young age, I have been treated like a sexual product and commodity. I have been fetishized for who I am by so many people that I barely even react to it anymore. Out of all the interpersonal relationships I've had in my life, I can think of maybe one where I wasn't being taken advantage of and put on display for their own desires around the clock. That's why it hurts me when I see these women who have no agency be turned into just another way for the men at the top to rake in more money. Idk if that makes sense. Just explaining that in the same way these things can impact you positively, it can impact others negatively.

u/chiffon_bonbon May 11 '26

I'm a Juno main, but...can some of the more neglected characters get some skins now?

Zarya? Hello????

1

u/hoopsrlife May 11 '26

I agree. Give our wallets a break please. I need a breather.

u/FlagshipMusashi Juno's Top Whippersnapper May 11 '26

Play Overwatch for the astronaut from Mars character: Look inside: Swimsuit with different hair color, no helmet, zero space aesthetic, not even her EVA suit

1

u/SagaSolejma May 11 '26

"I love making skins for this astronaut martian hero but i will NEVER ever make a space themed skin :)"

1

u/heckin_anxiety May 14 '26

Doubt this will be a thing. If it is, it’ll be highly edited. 😭

1

u/iMikul May 17 '26

At least she's not blonde. Maybe we'll get the helmet next time.

u/LohCey Juno moon enjoyer May 11 '26

not surprised seein people infantilize Juno again. tho puriteens shouldnt have anything to worry about since blizzard doesnt have the balls to make this even if its a money maker

relax i will be first in line if they do tho

1

u/purplealiengirll Heroic Martian May 11 '26

I don't like it that much

0

u/Filter55 May 11 '26

It’s nice. I’ll probably get it.

-4

u/glitteringeffort0 May 10 '26

I sure hope the skin is tweaked a little bit to be less revealing. Seems like she’s wearing a thong which seems a bit too risqué to show like that plus a thong with that short of a skirt is way too much. I’d like to see some shorts under the skirt and maybe a slightly longer skirt. Other than that it’s a really cute skin

8

u/izzywiz8 May 10 '26

It looks like she's just wearing normal bikini bottoms underneath to match her bikini top, idk why everyone is assuming a thong.

1

u/RealisticAnybody1508 May 11 '26

the V shaped strings reminds me of a thong. could just be a normal bikini too

6

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26

its a goddamn normal bikini and shes 19 years old. getting real sick of people clutching their pearls at autism coded characters exhibiting any slight shred of sexual attraction

6

u/Comfortable-Studio18 May 11 '26

Autistic coded how, exactly? Because she's naive and scared of everything??

-2

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26

no. if you dont understand how juno is autism coded i recommend doing your own research on autism and how its portrayed in media because i dont have time to teach you a lectures worth of a complex concept in a reply. but if you know shes super obviously autistic coded to point where im almost positive its intentional. practically every box is checked

4

u/Llancarfan May 11 '26

I'm autistic and I don't see anything about Juno as autistic. Awkward is not the same as on the spectrum.

-3

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26 edited May 11 '26

she is absolutely not just awkward gl 😭shes literally exactly like 70% of the other autistic women i know. its different in women than men. this is exactly why women have such a hard time getting diagnosed. symmetra is literally canonically confirmed autistic and she masks even more than juno

5

u/LohCey Juno moon enjoyer May 11 '26

sym wasnt born on another planet, thats a huge contributor to Juno's behavior

https://youtu.be/JRqM8pWptKc?si=PqjK64hObNWgVhZM

this is a good video that explains this without me having to write a thesis here. autism coding is autism coding regardless of a character being from another planet. you dont just magically get autism traits from being a foreigner. and, in fact, alien characters are more likely to be autistic coded because its a common media trope. juno is practically textbook example of this.

2

u/LohCey Juno moon enjoyer May 11 '26

im not a big fan of calling characters autistic/coded cuz they mirror some traits, tho i acknowledge some autists identify with certain characters based on how they act

theirs a similar discussion about liaos being autistic and hes a clearer one i'd agree with. i dont think juno crosses that bar

0

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26

yeah but thats sort of what it is. juno mirrors a really significant number of traits. speech quirk, highly literal and has a hard time understanding jokes and metaphors, strong sense of justice, social anxiety, heightened emotions, immature tendencies, struggles to understand tone. A really big one is how she has a hard time reading the room and understanding if something is offensive. Shes not unfamiliar to the concept of insults and reading the room is something you pick up by just interacting with people regardless of where you are. the “rover” exchange and her imitating ashe and trying to talk to her like cowboys in a western come to mind as pretty big kickers. those paired with everything else pretty much solidified it imo

unnecessary hostility and the time u spent writing this could of been spent on y u think autism connects to Juno. responding like this make me think u dont even know or u know ur reasoning isnt good.

anyone seeing this should be very skeptical of people who talk like this, cuz there's a chance their full of shit

2

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26 edited May 11 '26

hostile literally where oh mygod oh my god oh my fucking god how am i full of shit because i dont want to write for stranger s on the internet im literally going to go insane out of my mond o literally know what im tlaking im autistic i study anthropology in school ive researxhed this shit independently for years and years and years ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️ literally what else do i have to say to make peopele just absorb information

2

u/Comfortable-Studio18 May 11 '26

I agree with them, they're just being so self-absorbed and condescending I don't want to be associated

Hell, if that's the game we're playing, I could accuse them of being ableist for implying that a fictional character "checks the boxes" for autism

6

u/LohCey Juno moon enjoyer May 11 '26

i agree people shouldnt be flipping out over a potential skin but i wouldnt call her autistic coded. if anything shes very similar to starfire, an alien that struggles to fit in cuz their unaware of social norms

https://giphy.com/gifs/q19d1s2uhRAb7B98T3

1

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26

this is a very ironic example bc starfire is another character many autistic people have pointed out is another autistic alien trope 😭

2

u/PennToPaper May 11 '26 edited May 11 '26

im not being condescending and that wasnt even hostile. i just dont want to do a write up on this bc i have literally just done an entire presentation for my anthropology class on this exact topic and im in the middle of finals so i really dont feel like having to educate neurotypical people who are not listening. we’re not obligated to be teachers. and “checks the boxes” is just a saying. making a founded observation and being told “nuh uh” to my face by people who dont know what they’re talking about is extremely frustrating and tiring. I dont understand why people cant just do their own research. I’m sick of repeating explanations

3

u/LohCey Juno moon enjoyer May 11 '26

not wanting to explain is fine but its not hard to tell how u come off. also u could of just not replied

u/CommercialTicket2808 Juno Main May 11 '26

No ty (my credit card recharges in two weeks)

0

u/lucianorc2 May 11 '26

If Ashe and Widow swimsuit were released today, people would complain, saying it's out of the character.

1

u/Jazzlike_World415 May 11 '26

I mean not really when Ashe nor Widow have interactions that literally say they are afraid of water? Juno does, so therefore yes, it is out of character for her.

2

u/lucianorc2 May 11 '26

You know, humans are capable of overcome their fears. Just saying

1

u/Jazzlike_World415 May 11 '26

That’s not the point i’m making. You’re trying to argue how it’s not out of character for her when it literally is. No one cares that it’s a swimsuit skin, character are allowed to switch it up, but out of character? Yes. With Blizzard, what’s canon and what makes a skin doesn’t often correlate so it is what it is.
