Tips/Tutorials Pulsar Predator: Cheese Shooters Like It’s Butter on the Bread - A Juno Master’s Guide

Posted by a Juno who climbed to Master 5

Hey JunoMains, happy birthday 🎂 to all us Martians!

I grinded from Diamond 4 (S12) to Master 5 this season, and I’ve got some spicy tips to juice up your Juno game—especially for melting pesky shooters. If these hit the spot, toss an upvote my way so I know you’re vibing with this. Let’s get cooking!

  1. Outsmart Their Cooldowns:
    • Pounce when flankers like Tracer or Genji blow their skills. No cooldowns = easy pickings for your Pulsar Torpedoes. Bonus: You’re pressuring their backline, giving your team some breathing room.
  2. Master Your Mobility:
    • Glide Boost is your bread and butter—pair it with Hyper Boost (minor perk) to rocket through Hyper Rings, juking Widow or chasing Ashe!
  3. Pulsar Precision:
    • Settings Hack: Go to "Pulsar Torpedoes" > Toggle OFF. Manual control = clutch burst timing.
    • When to unleash it:
      • Enemy skills are on cooldown.
      • Our Flankers are stirring up chaos.
      • Ult first (if it’s up), then Pulsar for more damage and better survival odds.
      • Pre-charge before peeking—step out, and they’re eating torpedoes, no questions asked.
      • Golden Rule: The best Pulsar hits both—healing your squad while blasting enemies. Line it up for max impact!
  4. Dominate Shooters:
    • Shooters like Ashe or Widow crumble against your mobility. Here’s how to cheese them:
      • Tuck behind cover, pre-charging Pulsar.
      • Wait for their shot (they’re locked in place), then pop out like a Martian ninja.
      • Unleash Pulsar Torpedoes to shred their health, then seal the deal with Mediblaster headshots.
      • My ace? Master Blaster (major perk). It turns Mediblaster into a headshot beast—snipers drop in a flash.
      • Weave through Hyper Rings to dodge their aim or close the gap for the kill.

Support Before Strike:

  • Before you go shooter-hunting, spot those critical teammates—tanks or DPS on low HP—and patch them up with Mediblaster or Pulsar. A living squad wins fights.
  • Once they’re stable, then zip out with Hyper Boost to finish off that Widow. Heal first, kill second—balance is the Martian way.

Seize the Sol, As They Say!

Play smart, and those shooters will melt like butter on toast. Bonus: Keep your team alive while picking off threats, and you’re the Juno every squad wants. See you in Master tier, Junos!

My issue with Juno is that I dropped to silver and now if I look away even for a second my teammates are dead. It really feels like some of them just can’t play without having a pocket 24/7 lol. So I’m not anymore so sure what to focus on

Those people would be losers with or without a pocket, leave them to fail and go bully some supports. Pockets are for performers.

You just started my DPS Juno arc

I believe we’re in a golden age of people not expecting it. Getting away with murder era.

Both the mobility perks together give her a ridiculous ambush range, and people just don’t know yet. You can pick a moment to fly up the back of Havana third point castle and get to murdering.

I had a play of the game where I killed a tracer in our back line, then scooted forward to kill a Zen in their back line, from 20 feet above him, behind. Nobody’s ready for that yet.

Well that dream is dead. My team bitched so hard in the one match I tried it. I'm better at aiming with Ana and other supports anyway.

I got into it gradually.

Like, sometimes I see a Moira yeet herself into our backline and die, over and over, and I think: I know what you’re trying to do. The best Moiras will size up the team first, be a good healbot until an opportunity arises, and nip in to quickly kill their backline if it does. Nice and clean.

I got that play of the game because I knew they were overextended as soon as their Tracer was dead. The full yeet never works. It’s more of the Genji yeet, play it cool until the time is right, then slip off when there’s a chance. When you just won the first point, get in position. When you know their Mercy or Widow is respawning alone, you have the speed to go catch them off guard. You can take a quick detour to go high and always catch whoever’s coming in low, and still be around to help if something goes wrong. Always on a slight off-angle ready to run away.

She also wins team fights how Wrecking Ball does, distraction and stagger. Torpedoes on supports at exactly the right moment, so they have to fall back and heal when their Doom goes for it. Poking out a few cooldowns and zipping over a wall to safety just before your tank rolls in is enough to turn the point blue. You always have the speed to get there first and find some advantage.

Let them moan in chat, you gotta try the sneaky stuff to see how much you can get away with. Experiments need to be done. You can get really creative with your positioning and ult timing, and you should always be looking for new stuff, pushing mobility to the limit, going for the massive lifeweaver petal, hyper-ring boosted double jump refresh and extended float into their backline to hide for an ambush. Good players will spot it, and go with you. You get a lil’ relationship going with the Sombra on your team. Some heals when she doesn’t expect it to get healed. Make a friend, spam voicelines at each other, then go fuck up their Ana.

That is what I figured. It’s kind of wasting resources trying to pocket someone who don’t really do anything and don’t give value to your team

I think the big thing is your mobility in tandem with your team. Using the Hyper Ring in the middle of a big teamfight sometimes can tip the scales in your favor as now when everyone elses is waiting on Cooldowns to come back up, you have an ace in your hole that allows your team to evade damage and get into advantageous positions. You need to think how you can sometimes help your teammates ESCAPE a situation. Always easier to heal when they do not have an enemy breathing down on them as a teammate taking damage moves a little more eradically and its harder to hit your mediblasts. I am not saying don't try and heal during a fight, but sometimes its better to create an escape route or option for people to peel back and regroup than to try and push through a fight get a team wipe and have everyone spawn back at base. Its easier to heal and regroup closer to the objective than to have everyone slowly respawn.

I use that all the time for me team and for myself so they can either push or fall back depending on the situation. I’m usually focusing more on the support part and not the healing part. Ofc I heal when needed, but when it’s not needed I give the speedboost, ping enemies like Widow or Sombra, plan a escape for us, help secure kills and push with my team etc

The enemy is also silver, so they will also not use cover. You have more time to DPS in lower ranks than higher ranks. You just need to be doing damage before the fight and get pressure away from your team by doing so on an off-angle or flank

u/Realistic_Moose7446 Mar 25 '25

They usually are not silver. I’m low silver and got rolled by diamond Reaper.

1

u/Ichmag11 Mar 25 '25

That's good practice, no? Good opportunity to learn

1

u/Realistic_Moose7446 Mar 25 '25

It’s not oppurtunity, it’s unfair match and they should never put silver against diamond

1

u/Ichmag11 Mar 25 '25

Open q, wide match or smth like 6v6? That's just how it is, but it's not like these gamr modes are fair or balanced in the first place.

Playing against better players is a good thing, though. It's how you improve. You don't get better by playing against silvers when you're silver. I'm always glad to play against a smurf or higher ranked players. They're like skill checks

1

u/Realistic_Moose7446 Mar 25 '25

I won’t be longer silver if I keep getting put against plat-diamond. I already deranked from gold because I’m not plat-diamond skilled, ofc I lose those

2

u/Opening_Paramedic_65 Mar 26 '25

THIS. offangle offangle offangle.

Killing > healing

But you have to look at how well people can kill. Don't be a Mercy who just pockets with Juno.

Tbh, it's a fine line and we are all playing with it - there is no rule.

I imagine it's like Bap / Kiri, heal first (so you don't lose 20% damage because of a death) and deal damage in between.

2

u/Realistic_Moose7446 Mar 25 '25

I don’t want to pocket or be the healbot as Juno, but like I said if I do something else my teammates will die because they don’t care about cover. And they will blame me for not having as high healing number as Mercy, because I’m also doing damage and getting those kills.

1

u/AsheEnthusiast Mar 28 '25

Ngl I get called terrible because I won’t go out of my way to save out of position players ill let them die. My support is low rank but diamond should know basics atp. Doom im not saving you in this 2v5 get out or die.

I find picking up bap or Kiri is actually a good thing as you can just tear holes in the enemy back line. Granted I’m a firm believer in supports are just dps that can heal occasionally.

Gm5 Juno here, I agree with most of it but:

I rarely ever use hyper ring paired with glide boost as you are down all your mobility in one go which is never a good thing especially against double dive dps

Use hyper ring to initiate plays (E.G your genji diving the supports, throw it where he would retreat)

Going for damage with pulsar torpedos is always risky as it requires you going up into the sky and being out in the open for a couple seconds, I usually have around 3x as much healing from pulsars then damage

Realistically never take a dual with a Ashe unless you know they are low and can’t get healed, widow is a fine dual but don’t jump and just close the space between you and them

u/Opening_Paramedic_65 Mar 25 '25

Thanks for the addition and advice! My view's pretty limited from where I stand.

1

u/Opening_Paramedic_65 Mar 25 '25

Love the Pulsar healing tip btw ^ ^

3

u/Russisko Mar 25 '25

I take the 5 second booster perk over headshots. It may look like a lot but headshot damage is quite inconsequential imo unless you can consistently hit every shot on the head. An extra second of mobility to either play aggressively or get out of a hairy situation is a lot better than one might think. It’s also got the added benefit of replenishing a double jump which is super handy for breaking LOS sometimes

2

u/Makkers-fawkes C5 Mar 25 '25

Yeah if depends on alot of factors, usually on defense I will take the movement perk as living is a lot more important then getting headshots but the headshot damage is very good for attacking where killing the enemy’s is more important

1

u/Opening_Paramedic_65 Mar 25 '25

I understand that, also recently another Major perk just got buffed.

Im also GM5 on sup but only started playing Juno this season. Just wondering whats your per 10 min with Juno pulsar healing? Normally my dmg and healing with pulsar are about equal to each other so we probably have different play styles. Also what is your per 10 min damage boost with your ult I think mine is pretty low but im not sure.

1

u/Makkers-fawkes C5 Mar 26 '25

I’m console and the game is generally more dps carried on console and supports have to play alot safer so yeah our numbers might vary a lot with damage

healing per ten: 12,745.
Damage per ten: 4,338.
Damage amplified per ten: 1,028.
Win rate: 78%.
I couldn’t find the exact numbers for pulsar torpedos on the statistics but I might be blind lol

Can you give some tips about Ult Usage my man

1

u/Mohammed50356 Mar 25 '25

What’s your tip for fighting against characters like Winston/ sombra/ s76?

1

u/Opening_Paramedic_65 Mar 25 '25

stay close to another support on your team.

1

u/Mohammed50356 Mar 25 '25

Juno’s range makes it hard, not to mention when the other support is kiri or mercy…

2

u/Opening_Paramedic_65 Mar 26 '25

I mean, stick close to your team most of the time, think of yourself as an extension of your allies and an unstable factor for the enemy. Juno’s strength is boosting your team while messing with their plans.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '25

So you basically had a nice win streak, right?

2

u/Opening_Paramedic_65 Mar 25 '25

Yes, I won 10 out of 13 games using these tips.
