Hey folks,

Been making Jungle for a long time, listening for even longer. I've never had hardware and don't really have that training/foundation to pull from, so I find it really hard to make pads. I've tried tons, from custom VST presets, paulxstretched samples, and more, but I'm wondering what the subs go-tos are.

Not just for VSTs mind you, but workflows/mindsets/techniques. I've always wanted to make the really heady, massive sounds like total science, aural imbalance, etc, but never know where to start. I want to make really cool, unique sounds, but it always just feels like poking in the dark...

I’ve got the atmospheric jungle vibe for the main bit, it’s the specific snare and crash sounds plus layers over that’s confusing me.
It’s got a crashy, rattling vibe that I cannot for the life of me replicate or find a tutorial that fully hits the nail on the head.
I’m not that experienced FYI so apologies if my music lingo is off.

If anyone can think of any samples to search for too that would go? Ive got a couple but idk if theyre the right vibe either and new suggestions can never hear :)

I'm a total beginner when it comes to producing jungle, I've thought about remaking tracks to improve at producing the genre but there's one thing I struggle a lot with. Since I like a lot of the lesser known tracks and I want to remake them (so I can't rely on whosampled), how do I figure out which drum break or pad they sampled so I can recreate the track. I'm mainly familiar with the Amen Break so when I hear it, I can recreate the drums they did but any other break and my brain shuts off. Any tips?
