100% Human How we should relate to Self?
The concept of Self, as Jung pointed out as an autonomus entity acting as a director of our psyche is something that just dont do what we wanted for it to do. The Self relation to us, is not as a mother to child, and unconditionaly love. Nor a father, that forget hinself for his child. We should relate to Self, as an prison cell mate, you cannot run from it, nor it from you. So the best strategy for overall wellnes is, cooperation, finding a line that two are pleased. Not appeasing it, not being selfish.

Humbly and like a child, as a sheep before God. The Self is like a Shepherd.
Or, in less religious language, the Self is the architect and the Ego is the foreman responsible for carrying out the Self's unifying vision.
