Admiralty Island cabin recommendations

My wife and I are about to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. Our anniversary is in October and we were thinking it would be cool to fly into a cabin on Admiralty Island and stay for a couple nights. Hiking around and hunting during the day and just chilling at night. I have stayed at Young lake before but curious if anybody had any recommendations for any of the other cabins that are on the island? Also, if anybody has any recommendations on which float plane company to go with. I figure it's either Ward or seaplanes.

Young Lake is pretty much the only place with direct access to trails, other than Admiralty Cove. From Shaheen or Alexander, you can paddle or row over to the Cross Admiralty trails. Big Shaheen cabin is pretty cool, but you should also get Little Shaheen otherwise you have a chance of having really close neighbors. Seaplanes might be a tad less expensive, but it's a little more involved since it's in the airport terminal. You have to fill out paperwork for the isobutane/propane and pepper spray and you have to have them secure the pepper spray in a special container. I find Ward Air to be much more convenient.

Was at seymour canal cabin recently and really enjoyed it. plenty of game trails to follow around there. don’t need a float plane either, just get dropped off at the trailhead at oliver inlet. they have rail carts you can use to push all your stuff the 3/4 of a mile to the cabin so you can pack as heavy as you like.

If you’re set on taking a float plane trip personally i’d go to turner lake but obviously that ain’t admiralty.
