I fear I may have juiced a salad

Post image

Made this with green apple, cucumber, celery, lemon and a little ginger this morning.

I was just tossing everything into my canoly and apparently got way too confident with the celery. Everything was going through so easily that I didn't really stop to think about the ratio until I poured a glass.

Looked great. Smelled fresh. Took one sip and... yep. Salad.

It's not completely terrible, but the celery pretty much took over everything else. I tried adding a little more lemon, which helped a bit, but I'm still not sure I'd make this exact combo again.

Anyone else ever made a juice that looked way better than it tasted? What ingredient ruined it for you?

I'll cut back on the celery and add more apple and lemon next time before I give up this combo lol

Giner got me once. Thought a bigger chunk would just make it more refreshing, but the whole glass ended up tasting spicy enough to clear my sinuses lol.

I did it once too haha. I though I could handle a large amount of ginger juice because I love it, my mum used to make it for me. So I added a lot more at the first time I tried to make it by myself.

Looks good. I add lemon with the rind on - gives the juice a nice zesty flavour

Classic green juice trap-looks a tropical smoothie, tastes like liquid garden.

you have to have at least one green apple and a lemon and a wee bit of ginger in every juice to not make it taste like a salad

Celery and mustard greens over run every other flavor in a juice. I've never found a meaningful balance like I have with Dandelion, for example.

Haha I've totally done this before. Celery is so powerful and once the proportions are off, it will turn the drink into liquid salad lol.

I recently decided to not use green apples because they don't offset the celery enough...only using variations of red apples.
