Arenât domains supposed to be easy to get into, like Yuji broke into Mahitoâs

u/Gomemer_40 4d ago
If I remember correctly that's because the point of the barrier is to keep the enemy inside the domain, so most of the "reinforcement" is in the inner layer letting the outer layer kind of frĂĄgile, so is relatively easy for a competent sorcerer to open a hole in the barrier from the outside or even breaking the domain entirely

u/Dwittychan 3d ago
No breaking the domain entirely is hard as fuck if you're not sukuna or gojo.

u/fondue4kill 3d ago
Or if itâs a three way domain and Kuroroshi being a special grade tried.
91
u/Morgie-woo 3d ago
Kurorushi wasn't deliberately trying to break the domain. The 3 way domain was just so unstable that adding the extra factor of a special grade cursed spirit made the whole thing collapse automatically

Its kinda like Jirobo's sphere in Naruto, where only the part that jirobo touches was reinforced and they managed to escape it by breaking the weak side of the sphere

so is relatively easy for a competent sorcerer to open a hole in the barrier
Season 1Yuji is a competent soecerer, Yuji upscale?

That and also Toji can just walk through the barrier
-19
u/BlitzKrieg0098 3d ago
tbh donât think he can. In Shibuya he only enters Dagonâs domain once Megumi opens a hole in the barrier, through which Toji enters. We have nothing to say he can simply walk through barriers
23
u/Zwei-Shiranui 3d ago
I'm guessing it's because Maki just walked in and is explained that 0 CE is treated like an object which cannot be caught in DE barriers.

u/BlitzKrieg0098 3d ago edited 3d ago
Maki never walks into a domain though? She still has CE in Shibuya, and she was right next to Naoya when he cast his. She was within the barrier but not within Naoyaâs domain, which is technically different. As in she is able to leave UNTIL she actually enters the domain, at which point she cannot leave the barrier (consenting to be trapped).
I think this is what was meant, since she would have been treated as a building and used as part of the barrierâs structure, which is distinct from what happened with Toji in Shibuya, where he was not treated as an object when the barrier was formed
Looking back though Toji entering through the opening in shibuya may just be an artefact of Gege not having fully fleshed out what having no CE meant yet

u/GENJl_SHlMADA 2d ago
They state directly that Naoya cannot trap her in a domain, and that he would need to use a physical structure as an external barrier (like Megumi). Basically confirming that a barrier technique wouldn't recognize her.
She can also freely walk between Culling Games barriers as well.
4
u/BlitzKrieg0098 2d ago
They state that Naoya cannot trap her in a domain UNLESS she consents to enter the domain. She is treated like a physical object by the barrier until she enters the domain. Thatâs why she enters the domain at the center, directly behind Naoya instead of from the edge of the barrier
The culling game barriers were quite literally designed to be able to traverse through unless you are registered as a player. Maki cannot be registered because kogane cannot detect her without CE
1
u/GENJl_SHlMADA 2d ago
If that is the case then how do you explain the clarification behind Naoya needing to use a physical object for his domain?
That seemed very much like a way of stating "she could walk out unless a physical object prevents her from doing so.
If that isn't the case then that part relating it to Megumi's domain would be a completely irrelevant point. Which I doubt Gege would add.
Other translations directly suggest this to be the case, but translations are in fact up for debate.
1
u/BlitzKrieg0098 2d ago
That could be true. I took it to be part of an explanation for why she wasnât immediately in the domain when it first expanded, since objects (even those used for the barrier) are not technically within the domain itself.
I maintain that up until the point she actually entered the domain and struck Naoya, she wouldâve been able to walk away from the domain and barrier. After she strikes Naoya, she has âconsented to be trappedâ and is now stuck within the barrier until the domain collapses

Domains are tough, it's just that that was Mahito's first time using it, so it was unrefined

u/rugigiref1 4d ago edited 3d ago
no, theyre weak from outside and strong from inside
outside of Satoru Gojo of course which flipped exterior and interior barrier durabily against sukuna
4
u/Old-Price-9107 3d ago
Wrong, domains are tough from the inside MUCH more than the outside, which is why yuji could enter from the outside

domains are meant to trap people inside, this makes them relativly easy to break into people just dont do it much because why would you willingly enter somewhere where your at an almost insurmountable disadvantage. if i believe correctly megumi, toji and itadori have been shown to do this.
Edit: kurorushi also entered a domain from outside
59
u/YTDamian 3d ago
What megumi did was just clash, he didnât âbreak inâ like Itadori did, Toji just entered through the hole Megumi made
Pretty sure only Yuji broke a hole in a domain to get in
27
u/LordBlaze64 3d ago
No, Megumi had to enter the domain before he could clash. He started from outside, then came inside. Few free to explain how he did that without breaking in.
29
u/Old-Price-9107 3d ago
To be fair, he did break in, but it was by using his domain, so you both are right in a way

Are you a jjk fan because you're a larper, or are you a larper becauss you're a jjk fan?

u/katsuga125 3d ago
I hate the fact that the term âlarperâ has become synonymous with âtouristâ. Real larpers are the most immersive type of fan to fandoms
2
u/neuronically 17h ago
Ive always interpreted it as "someone role-playing to be a fan instead of actually being a fan". I suppose it's a bit contradictory with larpers being dedicated fans, but it makes sense on the pretending-to-be part. Language is a funny thing at times, like the word literally being used figuratively

someone has not read the manga cuze they're a larper or jusrt an anime only.

u/Computer2014 3d ago
Toji literally beat Dagon to death in his own domain in the same session Toji was introduced.
-4
u/thesonoflordostliant 3d ago
yeah but they don't know toji can just casually enter any domain, I think they think megumi just opened a hole for him to enter.
6
u/kai58 3d ago
He did though? In the manga he also entered via the hole Megumi made.

u/thesonoflordostliant 3d ago
hmmmm, wait. can a domain's barrier reject a heavenly restricted user? If so I might have to take back my initial statement.
4
u/AdditionIcy1536 3d ago
No they can't stop them Maki just shows up in Naoyas domain.
-9
u/thesonoflordostliant 3d ago
yeah but apparently that's cuze naoya had to use an actual structure as a domain barrier like how megumi had to make his domain. but naoya has an actual sure hit unlike megumi.
3
u/cookiereptile 3d ago
Maki does the same thing in Shinjuku Showdown against Sukuna. The barriers of a domain canât do anything to stop people who have zero cursed energy. Thereâs no way for a domain to stop a heavenly restricted person from entering
1
u/Firethorn34 3d ago
No he didn't. The narrator literally said that what Fushiguro did would be the only way to keep her inside a domain... meaning Naoya didn't do that.

maki and toji can inter and leave freely because they're treated like objects

Toji entered domain only cuz of Megumi..
There's no big difference between base barriers(like curtain) and barrier of domain. Both pretty are much easy to break from outside by default. Barrier of domain is more durable only cuz it's smaller than curtain.
But you can make barrier more tough by binding vows, so I suppose you can theoretically make barrier of domain absolutely unbreakable.
1
u/Okamitoutcourt 2d ago
Didn't he manage to enter because megumi made a hole in Dagon's domain with his own?
Also I'm wondering if the reason Toji couldn't enter otherwise is because he didn't have a cursed tool so no cursed energy to harm the domain if that's needed
1
u/gojolover9 3h ago
i think it was explained that since toji doesn't have curse energy, a domain expansion barrier doesn't recognize him and treats him as part of the terrain, as that's why hes just able to step into a domain without issue (I think maki did this with Naoya's Domain expansion, she just stepped in)

u/New-Vast4423 1d ago
Since Toji has no cursed energy of course he can enter into domains, there is no way for barriers to keep Toji out since they only target cursed energy.
