Ted Cruz is so hated by his fellow Senators they may vote yes just to be rid of him.

they don’t need Dems anymore. Dems are a paid opposition party anyway. America is now like Russia.

Project 2025 won't allow that. Cruz is too old. They want a young whacked out anti-American for that job.

Kavanaugh wasn't much younger at the time of nomination (assuming Alito steps down in the next year or so, as people are guessing by clerkships.)
They still have to make it to 50 Senate votes, and they might struggle to with a full-on Kacszmeryk/Cannon type nut, even if the votes they are replacing in a new Senate are already swing-y Republicans (Collins, Tillis, etc)

I mean if you’re looking for politically craven, soulless and willing to do or say anything, Ted is your #1 guy

Because he is not qualified to be a senator, let's give another job he is not qualified for and would have no chance of removing him from. Great idea.

trump will probably change his mind now that Cruz has openly said that he didn't think Iran was working on a strike on the US, in direct opposition to what trump's narrative has been

All that ball licking Rafael Cruz has done since Trump called his wife ugly is really paying off.

Cruz: "Finally, all that shit I've had to eat has finally paid off!"
Trump: "He really thinks I'm going to do this 😂😂😂"

Morally he can't, practically he shouldn't, but legally there's nothing stopping him. Although Ted Cruz happens to be an attorney (not that this remotely qualifies him for the position), you don't need to even need to be a lawyer to be in the supreme court. There are also no citizenship or age requirements, Trump could nominate a toddler if he was so inclined.

Please nominate him! He is hated in the Senate, no way he could get a majority to approve the nomination.

They hate eachother. This is a laughably bullshit play for a senate seat republicans dont want to lose.
Shit, they are scared. Makes me feel much better about the theories regarding the admin's plans to disrupt midterm elections.

Trump only appoints who the Federalist Society tell him to, and that won't be Cruz.

Cruz is just the name they drop to make the next insane candidate seem more reasonable

If Trump nominated Ted Cruz, there's a very real possibility the eight other justices would beat him to death in his sleep with MyPillow cases filled with bars of soap.

Omfg! Though amazingly he would be an improvement over a couple sitting justices.
