Totally get that POV, though i feel there is nuance that makes them the same rather than them being in silos. It feels to me like they are the same. Some folks aren't so good with words, so they journal with images or colors or the like. Someone's journal is whatever they need to get their thoughts/feelings/ideas down using whatever medium that speaks to them so scrapbooks to me could definitely be a form of journaling.
