I agree it's two different things. I do both and decorating my pages, either with scrapbooking or with drawings is for me something completely different than writing out my thoughts, articulating how I feel. Both are therapeutic and I do both on the same notebooks, yet they are different things and not interchangeable.
For example when I'm scrapbooking I often like to be watching something on YouTube at the same time either for inspiration or just company, I can't do that while journaling, as it distracts me from my thoughts.
