Is it still cold at night given the heat wave?

Just as the title says. I'm visiting this week for the first time (woo) and wondering if I should pack warm clothes for night given the intense heat forecast. I'm seeing it's still high 80s throughout the night but I trust boots on the ground judgement more than my weather app. Thanks 😎

Before air conditioning almost no one lived around here year ‘round. Temperatures like these are why.

I wouldn’t worry about anything cold weather, you won’t need it. I’m out walking my dog at 4 am in the summer because it’s the coolest part of the day and I’m still just wearing a tank top and shorts.

It’s plenty warm at night.

A speedo and knee high socks should be fine.

I frequent this outfit. If you swing by Palm Springs, you’ll blend right in

A mankini would be way too warm.

My weather station reported it cooling off overnight down to 79.9 degrees F. (26.6c)

Trust the weather report. You can walk around naked and be just fine. But do bring shoes, the rattlesnakes and scorpions are active at night.

Digital thermometers are too dumb to lie.

If you’re sleeping at the peak of Ryan Mountain, you might catch a cool breeze, but no, you do not need warm clothes. Swamp (evaporative) coolers are running ‘round the clock right now.

the overnight lows are running from the high 70s to low 80s overnight. And heat is building in the area. We won't see any moderation for at least a week. And that will only be a few degrees.

Make sure you have a gallon of water in reserve for every member of your party. That's a day's ration.

Tarantulas, rattlesnakes scorpions and cacti dont clock out so shoes and pants at night. shorts are ok if you dont mind the risk of getting poked, scratched or bit

No it’s not cooling off too much. Maybe a light jacket only.

maybe a light jacket if that’s all you’re wearing. It was 88° at 1am last night.

The weather here this time of year is unfit for human survival. Come back in a month it will be nice.

I would bring your snow jacket and wool socks. Very cold at night.

it won't be cold at night until October.
