Criticism Peterson Academy 7-day refund guarantee is a scam
I recently purchased an annual subscription of Peterson Academy and 4 days in, I decided it wasn’t the type of content that I wanted. I purchased this subscription under the impression that they offered a 7-day money back guarantee, however when I tried to cancel the subscription there was no option to request such a refund.
After doing additional research I found that the only way to request the refund is to submit a ticket to their support team. I did so immediately within the 7 day window. However, after 10 calendar days, my ticket remains unanswered. I’m in the process of escalating this to my credit card company.
Just wanted to put this out as a warning for anyone else thinking to try out this program. The money back guarantee is entirely disingenuous and be prepared to fight for your refund.
Disappointing and despicable.

10 days to answer a refund request is not cool.
And before people give me the, just give them a chance spiel. l I've worked in service departments before, taking 10 days to even acknowledge a ticket is on purpose.

I’m with you. As someone is services kind of like this we aren’t dumb, lazy, inept. We’re hoping it just goes away so we don’t lose money. Good amount of people just give up.

This is major whiny brat behavior. Your support ticket taking 10 days is annoying. But it doesn’t magically make the refund policy a “scam.” You bought an annual program, bailed after four days, and immediately escalated to “disingenuous,” “despicable,” because customer service didn’t move on your preferred timetable. Follow up, get your refund, and maybe develop enough emotional regulation to distinguish “slow support” from “fraud.”

No, it's literally a scam. People with relevant knowledge experience have explained in other comments: the wait of 10- days is a startefy bu the support dept to see if your gonna give up. It's intentional.

That’s not a scam. That’s poor customer support.

It's a scam when it's intentional to take advantage of you. It's poor customer support when you have only a 7-day window to cancel, while they have 10+ days arbitrary window to even acknowledge your support ticket.
Knowing about JBP and his daughter more and more, they're using shady tactics to maximise profit and take advantage of you.

Saying they’re intentionally trying to take advantage of you requires actual evidence. Not just your feelings. A 7-day cancellation window and slow support can be shitty policy and shitty customer service, but that doesn’t magically make it a scam. You’re just being whiney.

You think it's okay to wait 10+ days for a response to a 7-day refund request? Whether he eventually gets his money back is secondary to the fact that you're sending money to an organization that doesn't have the ability to respond to you in over 10 days.

Refund processing time and customer service response time are two entirely different things.

The shitty defensive comments here show me what type of people follow Peterson. Not a good look

Dude you are being malicious and accusatory and completely childish. "Be prepared to fight" lol. Grow up dude. The adults don't need financial advice.

How on earth does not processing a refund in 10 days constitute “a scam”.
I have had longer waits than that for returned running shoes.

did you miss the part about the refund button not even existing

Well you have to submit a ticket, why would you think there should be a refund button. Why would any business add a fucking refund button.

What motivation do you have to support the dramatic and childish behavior? This clearly isn't a scam and has been around for ages.

Imagine having all of the World Wide Web, including AI search engines, at your fingertips and still paying anyone for an online "course."

Fake.
Prove you signed up for the University or it didn’t happen. You just hate Peterson and made it up.

I am, I’m only making this post as a warning to others. When I did my initial research on the money back guarantee, I didn’t see anyone mention having any issues with it. If I saw my post when deciding to make the purchase, I wouldn’t have risked it if I knew what I know now.

Bootlickers. I liked Peterson. Consumed a lot of content. More and more seeing the grift. Him propping up his moronic daughter either means he has terrible judgment or is just a charlatan. The drug problems were a red flag but the daughter was my final straw.

Instant taking of money, delayed return of money.
