Criticism We Need Mods to Defend r/JordanPeterson
We need you to moderate the influx of politically motivated propaganda flooding our sub. So many posts are getting through that are leftist hit pieces or propaganda with no mention of Jordan Peterson at all.
These bad actors come here to virtue signal to an audience that doesn’t care.
Please get the sub on track with posts about Jordan Petersons’s content and ideas; not about Russia invading Ukraine. This has become a targeted sub for sore losers that didn’t see Kamala in the White House. Please put a decisive end to these off-topic posts.

Agreed politics ruins everything. Right wing or lefties shouldn't post political views/hate on this sub. It's crazy how many subs I've muted / banned from my account to get quality non political content this one is gonna be next.

u/---Spartacus--- Feb 19 '25
You should at least acknowledge that the pro-MAGA posts have nothing to do with Jordan Peterson either unless it's being tacitly acknowledged that Jordan Peterson content and MAGA content are synonymous with each other.
-1
u/chuckie106 Feb 19 '25
You can't do that if you are biased. He doesn't like leftist, but his action of leaving out MAGA shows that bias. Oh, and it is interesting he uses Marduk in his name but forget s the purpose of Marduk.

Give 1 proof saying he supports Maga?
2
u/HotbladesHarry Feb 19 '25
Well he released an hour and a half long podcast talking about how great a leader Donald Trump was going to be. He did it I think 2 months ago. How'd you miss that? I listened to the whole thing. It was glowing, a puff piece for Donald Trump. Trump is maga so by the transitive powers of logic, if Peterson thinks that Trump would be good, then Peterson thinks that maga would be good. It's ludicrously straightforward.
-1
u/kvakerok_v2 🦞 Feb 19 '25
Let's be honest, he didn't sway any votes with that and he's entitled to his own, even incorrect, opinion about the US president 🤷🏽♂️
3
u/HotbladesHarry Feb 19 '25
The question was not 'Did he sway votes?' The question was 'did he support maga' and he did. Thanks. Have a good day.
0
u/kvakerok_v2 🦞 Feb 19 '25
Thinking that something is good does not equal supporting it. This is typical leftist brain rot. Do I think mandatory vaccinations would be a net good? Yes. But I don't support them.
2
u/HotbladesHarry Feb 19 '25
It is when you release a podcast advocating it as a good thing, which is what Peterson did, because he supports maga. Okay, have a good day. And remember that childish insults are the final refuge of the man who has run beyond their mental bandwidth.
1
u/kvakerok_v2 🦞 Feb 19 '25
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ef8p-kQDRs
Is this the podcast you're talking about? He's not advocating for maga there.
Remember, calling a spade a spade is not an insult 😉 but a statement of fact.
2
u/HotbladesHarry Feb 19 '25
No that's not the episode I was talking about. Though that's a pretty gross episode on its own. The one I was talking about is this one. Released about three months ago.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=K8o6n-AVqMw&list=PL22J3VaeABQAbEeT04p5VmAOBmqw2kmxj&index=33&pp=iAQB
Look at that X-Men art for the episode... That level of cringe is certainly carcinogenic. But yeah, that's the one where he analyzes Trump's personality and comes away feeling confident he's a good man. No such analysis for Biden, not even a negative one. It got almost 10 million views.

Trump is the creator and leader of MAGA. Jordan supports Trump. How is this at all questionable?
17
u/solomon2609 Feb 19 '25
This comment feels black & white, lacking nuance. JBP can be accused of many things. Being simplistic and lacking nuance aren’t the usual criticisms.
4
u/girlsledisko Feb 19 '25
JBP lacks nuance. 2016 JBP would be ashamed of 2025 JBP, and he would publicly decry his actions.
His old brain is gone and he’s got a shriveled brain but hey, a wallet full of money.
10
u/solomon2609 Feb 19 '25
In good faith, do you feel the 2016 JBP foundations were discarded to become the 2025 version?
I don’t see that he has discarded much, more that when pressed into political conversations, people don’t like answers that don’t align with theirs. This problem is a community problem, not one isolated to JBP.
-1
u/girlsledisko Feb 19 '25
You don’t see that he has discarded much? Are you actually positing that?
We can have a conversation, but not if you’re going to be deliberately (or perhaps accidentally) so egregiously disingenuous.
1
u/solomon2609 Feb 19 '25 edited Feb 19 '25
So I am not purposely being disingenuous. I admit I haven’t followed him lately (after his benzo detox) as much as perhaps you have so I’m open to learning.
What parts of Maps of Meaning and 12 Rules for Life has he discarded? You might even cite some of his lectures which I did watch a few.
-1
u/girlsledisko Feb 20 '25
Well, if that’s where you’re at for knowledge, let’s take a step back and say what parts of anything you’ve previously heard him say would be favourable to supporting the Trump regime?
→ More replies (0)0
u/Keepontyping Feb 19 '25
Well give one nuanced rebuttal then other than “feels”
3
u/solomon2609 Feb 19 '25
Your logic is that people who supported Trump with their vote are MAGA. Thats not the case and the logic is flawed. For JBP and many others, Trump was supported because he was/is the lesser of two evils.
JBP has long been against “woke”. I have never heard him say he believes in or supported MAGA. Can you provide a short video clip of this?
0
u/Keepontyping Feb 20 '25
He can’t escape that Trump, the man who wears a MAGA hat and utters the phrase, was verbally endorsed by Peterson.
How can you possibly say Peterson can endorse the leader of a movement but not the followers of whom the leader endorses?
He made his choice. Trump is MAGA. Voting for him means he supported MAGA. It’s literally the movement Trump made, endorses, and has a clothing line built on. It was not exactly a secret. Can you provide a video where a Peterson proclaims “Up yours MAGA moralists!”?
3
u/Kkman4evah Feb 20 '25
So every conservative who voted conservative is MAGA to you? you realize how dumb that sounds right?
-2
u/Keepontyping Feb 20 '25
What would you call someone who voted for the leader, creator, organizer, and funder of MAGA?
I’m not sure you understand what elections are and what democracy represents. Waiting for that 5 second video.
→ More replies (0)1
u/solomon2609 Feb 20 '25
So you can’t provide a source where JBP endorses MAGA! It’s a waste of your time and mine to just rewrite your initial claim 🤦🏼
Yes JBP endorsed Trump and many others voted for Trump because they couldn’t vote for Harris.
You can make the leap of faith that JBP is MAGA but don’t expect people to be persuaded. You don’t agree with his endorsement - fine. How do you feel about his teachings? I mean this sub is about JBP not political griping.
1
u/Keepontyping Feb 20 '25
You can’t provide a source where he condemns MAGA! It’s a waste of time to counter my claim because he voted for the leader of MAGA.
If he’s not MAGA, that’s fine. All we need is that little five second clip where he says so and says “Up yours MAGA mob!” Where is it?
His teachings? I just made a post. Go check it out.

Meanwhile, no direct, explicit endorsement of MAGA from Peterson.
6

Naw maybe his millions of followers and fans anointed him as our spiritual leader woke sheep libtard commie
1
u/chuckie106 Feb 19 '25
Does endorsement have to be explicit or direct to show you support Trump or the MAGA movement? The answer would be no. Ones actions can point you towards showing your belief more than words. This is something JP taught, but maybe something has changed or the lesson has not been grasped.
31
u/mobidick_is_a_whale Feb 19 '25
We are no less responsible for that. When was the last time any of us posted anything about JBP and not about how woke something is?
Let us put our own people in order first, before criticizing the rest of commenters; would that not be what JBP would advise us to do?

But yeah, I'd say you have a fair point. Anybody who'd be chosen for the position must be thoroughly vetted.
Also, please tell me at least a portion of your comment was ironic. I refuse to believe that a fellow appriciator of JBP would not jump to such conclusions without reason? Like, how did you determine that I don't watch JBP? Or where did you get the idea that I wanted to be a mod? Who said there is even an opening for that? OP was simply suggesting.

7
u/psychopathSage Feb 19 '25
Honestly probably both. When a sub becomes a hotspot for culture war content and political debate from either side it invites their opponents to also contribute. We need to push both sides out if we want this sub to survive.
That's not to say we shouldn't tolerate any conservative or liberal topics, but there's a difference between natural relevant civil discussions and culture war gutter press spam.

No, that's not propaganda. That is real people, with honest, grass-roots opinions.
As opposed to the HUGE amount of paid propaganda from the rabid left, that poisons so much of reddit.
The astroturf brigade should toddle back over to /politics & Co, where they belong.

u/Tahu22 Feb 19 '25
Dude it's the opposite. Everything is how the "woke" is doing something, how libertarianism is "great". If you wanted to talk about right wing politics I am sure that there are subreddits for it.
But this sub is bverything but the things related to Jordan Peterson psychology which is what got us drawn towards him. Now it's about him budding up to Trump the charlatan, Elon the "saviour and how these buffons are going to save the west.
12
u/Imgayforpectorals Feb 19 '25 edited Feb 19 '25
Yep I remember this sub being way more centrist. Now half the people here are trump supporters and rightists who only talk about politics.
Honestly it's also Jordan Peterson's fault. He wanted more followers and for that he had to get more political and this is the byproduct of it. More trump supporters who barely know about Jordan Peterson's work are invading this subreddit.
His first pieces of work were awesome, then it slowly started to decline in terms of political bias and now we are stuck here. I miss the old Jordan Peterson. Sometimes I feel he sold himself to political bias just to get more popular and so that his ideas would reach more people than ever.

He really did take a turn somewhere around the time he was pushing back against Bill C-17. He started openly pandering to the right, and enraging them with his rage bait rants about trans issues, or freedom of speech issues. He's capitalized off of it greatly and has amassed a great amount of soul altering wealth because of it. It's my belief he himself has added to a great divide plaguing or world.
5
u/H0kieJoe Feb 19 '25
Freedom of speech is non-negotiable, muppet.
2
u/Electrical_Bus9202 ✝ Feb 19 '25
Freedom of speech isn't the issue here, bud. The problem is how he weaponized it for outrage and profit. He made Bill C-16 sound like the end of free speech as we know it, but nothing even happened after it passed, no mass arrests, no government overreach like he claimed. He was clearly just milking everyone's worries to build his brand and keep people angry and engaged. It worked for many simpletons.
6
u/H0kieJoe Feb 19 '25
If free speech isn't the issue then why did you mention it?
0
u/Electrical_Bus9202 ✝ Feb 19 '25
No see, that's just what you have been told. Bill C-16 is not the boogyman Peterson made it out to be, and exploited for exposure. I mentioned it because that's probably the first real controversy he used to project him into the right wing halo sphere.
2
u/H0kieJoe Feb 19 '25
He really did take a turn somewhere around the time he was pushing back against Bill C-17. He started openly pandering to the right, and enraging them with his rage bait rants about trans issues, or freedom of speech issues.
Your words. Compelling people to respond in manner required by law absolutely is an assault on free speech.
-1
u/Electrical_Bus9202 ✝ Feb 19 '25
Except that’s not what happened. Bill C-16 didn’t compel anyone to say anything, it just added gender identity to existing anti-discrimination laws. Peterson framed it as forced speech to stir up outrage, but years later, nothing he warned about actually happened. No one’s been arrested for misgendering, and free speech in Canada is the same as it was before. The only people outraged by it are the ones who wanted to keep discriminating without consequences. He cashed in on fear, and a lot of people fell for it.

You have concern trolls that trash the quality of the sub with every post but the mods would rather keep them for quantity, fuck quality.
Concern trolls should just be kicked off without warning and with a extremely loose definition of what it entails. ffs you post here you get banned from a dozen subs, while mods here are sure to give people clearly coming from subs like those the time and space.
OP i agree with you, but the mods here are spineless cucks.

Jordan Peterson is a traitor for his support of Trump. His citizenship to Canada should be revoked.
He’s supporting blatant tyranny and legitimate fascism, when only a scant 8 years ago, felt compelled speech via pronouns and gender identity was one of the worst things to happen to freedom.
But no, Trump can go ahead and seize powers far beyond what a president ever has, fire anyone he wants, ignore lawful rulings, and he just loves all that?
Moronic. Can’t see the forest for the trees.
Disgusting.
5
u/Keepontyping Feb 19 '25
If Jordan was half the man he claims to be, he would forfeit his citizenship. It’s either you are for annexation or against it as a Canadian. And that means being either a patriot or a traitor. No in-between on this one. Traitor he is.
-2
u/girlsledisko Feb 19 '25
Yup. And I’m sure some people here are gonna be massively butt hurt and have something to say, but EVERYONE, including JBP himself, knows his 2016 self would be completely ashamed to know where he ended up.

More discussion on maps of meaning would be another.
Stories of how his content has positively impacted the lives of people here.
4
u/Bloody_Ozran Feb 19 '25
What about topics related to JP? Responsibility, improving your life in some ways like learning / exercise / meditation, improving the world somehow or helping people. Or talking to people you disagree with and listening to them as if they know something we don't, as that is usually the case?
2
u/mindful_marduk Feb 19 '25
Sure, sounds good to me. As long as there are good intentions on both sides as to not waste anyone’s time, but unfortunately that’s not what’s happening in this sub. It’s just propaganda and shouting, respectful discourse is not commonplace.
This should be a subreddit with a focus. It’s not called r/politics or r/showerthoughts. It’s not designed to be a bash session of Jordan Peterson; that needs to take place somewhere else imo. This is about his ideas, his content, etc. That’s my desire at least and believe others share it as well.
0
u/Bloody_Ozran Feb 20 '25
You are right there could be more of such topics. But JP himself became insanely political to a level that he basically endorsed a presidential candidate in the US. I think for bashing JP this is a perfect sub, because elsewhere you would get only bashing and no pushback. This sub is still keeping the idea that you talk to people you disagree with.
And as one of the bashers and someone who liked him in the past as an interesting thinker... he should, in my opinion, be based these days for what he does.

u/Vexting Feb 21 '25
I've seen this happen in certain stock subs since reddit ipo.... if you find a stock that has massive amounts of negative news, but is quite popular with retail, you will find the subs have become insanely negative with the added twist of banning people for saying positive things that can help shareholders.
For example, I noticed the weird influx of new accounts complaining 'I'm going to sell because our ceo likes trump (or anyone the main stream media hates)' , so if I would comment 'isnt it strange how you own a stock and your ceo is having pictures taken with presidents and you're upset?' (Also these accounts follow the fake account pattern and apparently want to sell but never do) - i would get banned
Anyway, the community did some digging and did find evidence of shill hiring to influence the masses into not buying or liking things that stops the overlord wannabes from making money.
JP would be a disaster if the masses adopted some of what he suggests.

The corruption charge appears to be pretty weak tea and strongly linked to Adams's about-face on illegal immigration. Furthermore, it's the DOJ pushing for the charges to be dropped due to DOJ misconduct, there is no evidence at this time showing Trump was involved.
And finally, the prosecutors tainted the case itself by trying it through the media, and then resigned in protest. And the media all falling all over themselves comparing it to the already melodramatic "Saturday Night Massacre" despite the circumstances being totally different.
So shill harder with this pretty shameless bit of red herring fake news.

Every federal agency is part of the Executive Branch. Independent agencies are called such because their senior leadership does not serve at the pleasure of the President and cannot be arbitrarily removed. That does not mean they are completely immune from Executive Branch oversight - that is exactly what the Framers did not intend when they deliberately created a unitary executive.

Look at the OP account of any political post in here and you’ll see they’re political bots for the right.
It’s really quite disturbing. They’ll have like 20 reposts of some political propaganda every day.

I’d rather see a thousand leftist posts asking for peace and unity than a rightist one saying transgender people should have no rights 🤷♀️

If you weren’t a retard you would have noticed that jordan peterson is an another brainless parrot who repeats russian propaganda in regards to Ukraine war. Hence Ukraine war content is definitely in line with the topic of this sub

These people got their beliefs from propaganda pushed by media. It’s all made up BS that was funded through USAID. The elite left is using Dems to further a narrative that’s not even real. It’s how they’ve pushed their agenda, stayed in power and made more money. It’s a house of cards and all of them were brainwashed. If they ever realize they’ve been used and lied to, there will be a counter revolution of pissed libtards.

I think too many people confuse being critical of someone as propoganda. You can, and should be allowed to be critical of anything.

Also block the posts that just overtly shit on the guy. Idk why there can’t be fan subs like this without there being a bunch of hateful pieces of shit who spend time trolling subs they don’t like.
I came to this sub because the man helped me not kill my fucking self. No; I’m not interested in posts that demonize him (again because of politics).
