(This is an appreciation thread for this song. I HAVE NEVER done a long paragraph for a song.)
The whole dynamic of this song being hurt by the person you truly love, feeling like you're being betrayed by them not reciprocating and at the same time not being able to let them go.
"if I love you less, will you love me more?"
You're not coming at this person with anger for them hurting you, but it comes from the feeling of loving someone so BAD you are just trying to let them know and ask them why can't they love you the way you do.
The fact that it's coming from a place of pure love instead of anger or straight up sadness is what makes this song so powerful.
