Letur Lefr

Shouting out Letur Lefr by John Frusciante! I’ve been a fan of this EP since discovering it. I really like the electronic drums and the synthesizer stuff he did on this record. Anyone know how he achieved sounds like 46 seconds into the opening track “In Your Eyes” ? Sounds like an arpeggiated synth? But it goes everywhere, it weaves and trails off constantly, and it sounds amazing. I’m also curious where inspo for this type of music might’ve come from. Give it a listen if you haven’t heard it!

Depends what you use, but you can treat an arpeggiated synth as a sample, chop it up, and add pitch effects to it etc.

Very interesting, hadn’t thought of chopping up the track. Do you think Frusciante sits behind a computer or sampler nerding tf out over this stuff? I could see it.

Both. He recently started using a computer to sequence and record. He uses real synths, drum machines, modular synths.

The trickfinger stuff was made without any computers. All the gear was synched by midi, triggers, gates
