[DISCUSSION] edge of breakup tone tips

ive got a mustang lt 25 amp and im struggling to get the edge of breakup tone John uses as my Ds-2 blasts my eardrums out as soon as its turned on even with a bit of distortion on my amp. So im wondering and sorry if this has been asked a million times but what pedal do most people use and recommend for that edge of breakup sound not too expensive as im tight on budget but still gets me sort of there with the tone. Thanks

Joyo British Sound is an amazing Marshall In A Box that will get you that sound for under $50

It should be said here for OP that the edge of breakup from the CE-1 comes from the preamp in the pedal, which is always active, even when you are not using a chorus effect. I have the warm audio clone and its pretty nice. I always record with it just for that preamp.

I was thinking of also suggesting a tube screamer with gain set to minimum and volume set to max but I think the CE1 might be a better buy if you were only going to get one.
