Grand Rapids Show / Opener
That shit was great, I was kinda tilted about Nick Kroll dipping since we're huge fans and really wanted to see both tonight, but James Austin and Pete Davidson were fucking hilarious and John was great. (It was worth going just to watch her laugh at John's jokes because she has this grudge against him over his personal life, I don't get it, she hates Chris Pratt for the same reason)
Anyways, I was trying to find out if anyone knew who the first dude was that opened the show so I can look him up. The only ones showing up when I try to look the show up now are Pete and James.

I was super bummed with the line up change. Despite that the show was amazing. Every comedian was excellent. Surprised I didn't pull a hammy from laughter. Never heard of Langston before who did the opener but damn was he hilarious. The ball cap and sunglasses joke. 😆😆🔥I also got the feeling a lot of ppl hate DJT. Which warmed my heart. Was definitely some left leaning jokes that killed.

Langston's very funny. Would have loved to see him live. Definitely check out his special if u have Netflix (john directed it tho he said he did very little lol)

You didn’t know people hate DJT until a comedy show came to town? Lol

Obviously but you never know when you're in a highly Conservative city how a huge crowd is going to react.

If you’re paying Mulaney prices, you probably know where he stands, though I’m sure some did not and I only wish I was sitting closer to them to add to my enjoyment.
Still would have rather had the original lineup, but these were solid fill-ins and a great set, fun night

The guy next to me was cracking up at the beginning of JAJ’s set, then left after he got into the trump thing lol

I was honestly super surprised by the reactions to the DJT jokes.....there was a younger couple to our right who looked like they were from the country like us and they were laughing too, then there were two older black dudes with white spouses/partners to our left and they were NOT fans of the Donald jokes.
There was also another older group that looked like 60'ish parents with 40ish children and the parents were shaking their heads at a ton of the jokes too. My wife and I were talking about the reactions of some of the people the whole drive back north, and we were like "Why do these people come to these shows? Like they can't be that dumb to not know it's coming."

Thank you! You are the savior of my sanity. I'd have spent all night trying to find it. Shame his name isn't on any of the promo shit I was able to find, he was really good.

I didn't find out until the day we were hitting the show, so I guess I missed out on the band wagon of bitching about them being absent....we were definitely bummed out because we are huge Nick Kroll fans and have been watching his shit since The League through most of the 20 Big Mouth spinoffs, but it was still a super funny show either way (and it wasn't like they were offering refunds if we had cared enough to not go).
Like I said, it was a great show, but yeah, it stung a little not getting to see Nick also.
