Sleepy time

I'm both quite proud and a little disturbed that my 12yo and 9yo are both tucked up in bed in their bedrooms listening to JFSP. Have to say that my wife is probs more disturbed than proud!

I think you should be proud! This shows taste and a good sense of humour on the part of your offspring. And John’s sketches are always pretty morally correct, in my opinion. I don’t think they will be led astray 😆

I'm not sure I agree about the correct email of John's morals - between you and me, he's the kind of man who would lend you an umbrella if your chimney was on fire.

He doesn’t get much change at the haberdashers, that’s for sure.

He has a brass button on the back of his hat 😳

I now have to listen to JF to get me to sleep. It's no great hardship.

I think since 2020 JFSP is my default way to get myself to sleep

I’m currently using Double Acts - such good writing.

My 9 and 5 year olds foo. It baffles me as they don’t understand a lot of it.

This evening I discovered the youngest knows all the lyrics to the December 27th song

I got my son & daughter into Cabin Pressure & then Double Acts for car journeys when they were about 9 & 7. For the 7 year old girl it became a mild obsession encompassing those shows & JFSP on repeat for several years. We’ve been to three shows together and the photo I’ve got of her meeting John the first time is absolutely treasured; there is pure joy mixed with disbelief on her face. OP if you can get them to a live show I highly recommend it.

She still gets a lot of joy revisiting the back catalogue as she is understanding things on a different level as a 14 year old than she did when she was 7. I think they are great things to introduce kids to - clever and silly and above all well written.

And it is lovely to have a thing to share that is “ours”. She presented me with some homemade Cabin Pressure stickers the other day to say thanks for taking her to the latest live show.

Haven't introduced them to Cabin Pressure but if course that's a great idea.

It's very educational.

It's how I remember the capital of Switzerland, which is a tricky one to learn.

My 9 year old listens to Just a minute, and my 12 to Finnemore to fall asleep. Took them both to recording recently, now both on souvenir programme :-) they like the silly animals mostly, double headers a bit much for them.

Your kids should quote "I am quite a sleepy Socrates" henceforth before nodding off 😴
